Senior Application Security Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Provides expert-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, including integration of third-party products, ensuring required performance levels are met.
  • Leads all phases of solution development, recommending appropriate design and build/buy options, ensuring the viability, scalability, and security of IT deliverables.
  • Translates business and technical requirements into design specifications and code; writes complex programs, ETL processes, ad hoc queries, and reports, ensuring code quality, documentation, maintainability, and reusability.
  • Designs database systems and develops tools supporting real-time and offline analytic processing; integrates large-scale data from multiple sources to ensure data consistency, integrity, and usability.
  • Conducts and oversees testing activities, including unit, regression, functionality, performance, and security testing; validates solutions with clients to ensure requirements and intended outcomes are met.
  • Promotes code through development, test, and production environments in accordance with change management processes; submits required documentation and provides post-implementation production support.
  • Participates in and leads design, code, and test reviews throughout the development lifecycle; identifies issues, resolves elevated problems, and recommends enterprise-wide improvements.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in software development methodologies, architecture standards, and data engineering best practices; mentors and trains less-experienced staff.
  • Designs and delivers training on tools, data sources, and processes for technical teams and business users; creates job aids and reusable enablement materials.
  • Evaluates, tests, and implements new software releases; troubleshoots issues and partners with vendors to resolve defects and deploy solutions to production.
  • Partners with internal clients to understand business, security, and risk needs; builds expertise in firm-specific tools, technologies, applications, and databases, including those supporting the USP program.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of security vulnerability analysis, risk scoring, and prioritization, incorporating threat intelligence, exploitability, and environmental context.
  • Communicates technical concepts and considerations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in meetings and project forums.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in designing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes and database architectures.

Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Tableau, and with proficiency in cloud-native ETL and data pipeline tools

NIST CSF mapping experience, risk-centric dashboarding, production analytics deployments, and/or vulnerability management domain knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
