Network Engineering Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a Manager, Network Engineering to lead a team responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise network environment, including oversight of network operations and NOC functions.

This role blends technical leadership and people management, guiding a team of network engineers while helping evolve how network services are delivered. You'll partner closely with engineering, security, and cloud teams to strengthen operational execution, improve service outcomes, and move toward a more engineering-aligned model.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of network engineers (primarily Tier 2/3)
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and career development
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day network operations, including monitoring, escalation processes, and NOC service delivery
  • Own and drive the incident management lifecycle, including major incident response
  • Ensure reliable, high-performing network services and improved incident outcomes
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and reduce repeat issues
  • Ensure effective 24x7 operational coverage through established NOC processes

Technical Leadership

  • Act as an escalation point for complex network issues
  • Provide guidance across enterprise networking technologies (routing, switching, security, and hybrid environments)
  • Support operational readiness and partner with engineering teams on design validation

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Help evolve the team from traditional operational support to a more engineering-aligned model
  • Identify and drive improvements across processes, tools, and team capabilities
  • Lead initiatives to modernize monitoring, automation, and overall service delivery

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders across infrastructure, cloud, and security teams
  • Manage vendor escalations and support service delivery alignment
  • Communicate operational performance and insights effectively to leadership

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of network engineering and/or operations experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Strong technical foundation in enterprise networking (routing, switching, WAN, L2/L3)
  • Prior hands-on experience as a network engineer
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and drive continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading network engineering or operations teams in enterprise environments
  • Exposure to cloud networking (AWS or hybrid environments)
  • Experience working across both engineering and operational domains
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability platforms and automation tools
