Motion Designer & Video Editor Specialist

Seeking a Motion Designer and video editor to join Vanguard's in house creative agency. In this advanced-level role, you will lead and advise on creative concepts, strategic design solutions, and art direction for end-to-end postproduction. You are a strategic motion artist who can synthesize business needs into compelling audience focused storytelling. You have leadership qualities that allow you to act quickly and creatively on stakeholder feedback, delivering thoughtful on brand & audience focused solutions, and the skills to mentor and guide other designers. Your expertise in data visualization principles will be crucial in creating clear, engaging, and insightful stories, infographics and visualizations. You will play a significant strategic role, consulting on creative solutions in video and motion, managing high-profile projects, developing design standards, and pioneering new creative strategies to evolve the brand. This role focuses on innovation, requiring you to collaborate with designers, writers and producers to gain stakeholder buy-in.

As a Video Editor & Motion Designer you play a crucial role in executing engaging visual content across streaming and social media platforms- responsible for the full cycle of video and motion projects, from organizing footage to final asset delivery. This includes editing raw video, creating motion graphics, developing short-form social-first videos, CTV and streaming ads, internal corporate communications.

This isn't just a "post-production" role; it is a creative engine role. You will be responsible for defining how the content for how our brand moves, breathes, and communicates across platforms and screens- owning the attention of target audiences with vivid visual storytelling.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provides deep subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on creative concepts in motion, design solutions, and strategic motion direction. Leads and contributes extensively during brainstorming and concepting sessions.
• Promotes, socializes, and implements best external practices and cutting-edge design/media tools to enhance Vanguard's communications and marketing capabilities.
• Transforms draft materials, storyboards and concepts into concise and impactful presentations and pitches.
• Pitches industry-leading ideas using new creative services and media methods and AI practices.
• Develops motion design standards and helps evolve Vanguard's brand motion identity.
• May identify, collaborate with, and oversee external freelance vendors.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in full Adobe Creative Suite, Mastery of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere, Audition and Figma.
• Excellent understanding of design principles, data interpretation, and brand consistency.
• Strong communication skills to effectively receive and incorporate feedback.
• Experience in leading and advising on creative concepts and strategies.
• Demonstrated success in gaining stakeholder buy-in for innovative and non-traditional creative approaches.
• Experience leading or mentoring other creatives.

Preferences:

• 7 years related work experience with 5 years of senior post-production, design and motion focus.
• Undergraduate degree in video production or digital media arts
• Ability to handle shooting small internal video productions a major plus.
• Working knowledge of HTML
