IOS Engineer

This role is on the mobile team that is part of vanguard's Discretionary Advice platform. Discretionary Advice Platform Engineering is committed to Vanguard's goal to bring high-quality, affordable Advice to our clients. DAP enables multiple advice offers including an all-digital offer for the masses and a hybrid offer that pairs the digital experience with an Advisor for clients who value human support. Both offers are available for Personal Investor clients and Institutional plan participants. To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience with Native application development
• Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g. Swift/Objective-C, JavaScript)
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and demonstrate a hands-on understanding
• Understanding of design patterns, integration patterns/practice, Data modeling principles and best practices
• A good track record of project delivery for large cross-team projects
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with engineers, managers, PMs, customers

• Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms
• Latest iOS SDK / XCode
• Swift 5
• Git (GitHub)
• Honeycomb
• Splunk
• some familiarity with react native development

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred or relevant experience
• 2+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years as a mobile developer

• Work must be performed in the U.S.
• Hybrid model of work; Tuesday-Thursday in office
