Core Responsibilities
- Provides written and oral feedback to writers and SMEs on content organization, grammar, style, and related areas. Evaluates the effectiveness and quality of the content.
- Checks facts and verifies that changes and corrections made by others are successfully implemented in the final version of print and electronic materials
- Evaluates copy for Vanguard style, accuracy, and format.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Vanguard funds, Vanguard products and services, the financial markets, and investment planning issues.
- Assists with content development by researching subject matter and collaborating with other crew and external experts as needed.
- Organizes and formats edited content to ensure a smooth flow. Writes content as needed.
- Ensures that proper regulatory hedge clauses and copyright marks appear on each piece. May evaluate pieces for FINRA and intellectual property compliance.
- Assumes leadership responsibilities for coaching and training new members of the group and serving as a resource for style issues and questions.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Confidence/comfort working with SMEs, product owners, senior writers
- Exemplary command of grammar, style, and effective communication plus solid understanding of marketing communications
- Strong leadership/coaching skills to mentor junior editors and advocate for the editorial process
