Backend API Engineer Technical Lead II

This is hybrid position, with in-office work required Tue, Wed, Thur.

What You'll Do:

  • Demonstrate collaboration, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute wherever the team needs support.
  • Partner with architects to implement high-performance mobile applications.
  • Research and summarize adjacent technology trends to provide guidance.
  • Mentor the team on the "how" of better use of existing platform components and performance best practices.
  • Apply software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.
  • Use observability to continuously optimize your product capacity, performance, monitoring and alerting.
  • Communicate technical issues effectively in a manner all audiences can understand.
  • Establish and communicate a technical vision for your product.
  • Work with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to prioritize work relative to both delivering business value and addressing technical debt.
  • Lead system analysis, design, development, and implementation for our existing mobile native applications.
  • Translate stories into design & code. Develop well-engineered code and test artifacts backed by automated tests.
  • Research and employ contemporary software development techniques to ensure quality and improve velocity of the team.
  • Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.
  • Follow Agile software development methodology. Follow architecture standards and best practices
  • Lead in design, code, and test inspections throughout life cycle to identify issues. Participate in other meetings, such as those for use case creation.
  • Foster and maintain an inclusive, highly collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years related work experience, with at least 3 years of development experience.
  • 3+ years of Node.js experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • JIRA
  • AWS Cloud - ECS Fargate, EKS, Lambda a plus
  • XCode / SWIFT or Android Studio/ Java experience is a plus.
