AI/ML Product Manager
As an AI/ML Product Manager at Vanguard, you'll help shape how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enable better outcomes for our clients and our crew. In this role, you will set the strategic vision and roadmap for AI/ML-enabled products within a defined business area, ensuring solutions are responsible, scalable, and aligned with Vanguard's long-term, client-first mission. Your work may influence products with enterprise-wide impact, helping teams work more efficiently and deliver greater value to investors around the world.
What you'll do
- Lead product management for multiple AI/ML products, or one highly strategic product, with cross-divisional impact.
- Define and own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategy and planning through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with engineering, data science, design, risk, legal, and business stakeholders to design, build, and improve AI/ML technical solutions.
- Translate market research, user insights, and client feedback into clear product vision, features, and requirements.
- Guide planning, development, and implementation of new AI/ML products, including defining target markets and implementation approaches.
- Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess performance, improve user experience, and inform future product direction.
- Coach and support technical product teams on product management best practices and shared learnings.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication, including product messaging, documentation, and customer or stakeholder outreach.
- Contribute to business planning, prioritization, and investment decisions to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
- Participate in modern engineering practices, including development, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
- Support special projects and other responsibilities aligned with the role, as needed.
What we're looking for
- At least 8 years of experience in AI/ML product management or closely related roles, including a minimum of 3 years in technical product or project leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; a master's degree is a plus.
- Experience across the AI/ML product lifecycle, including user-centered design, market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and implementation planning.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), machine learning frameworks (for example, TensorFlow or PyTorch), and analytics tools.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
- Comfort collaborating in cross-functional, agile teams and synthesizing complex data into actionable insights.
- Certifications are valued but not required; examples include Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer, or Pragmatic Product Management.
