We're looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Product & Technology department. You'll be part of a skilled and motivated software engineering team working in an agile environment across the UK and India.

What you'll do:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you'll play a key role in developing innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry. This is primarily a software engineering role, focused on writing high-quality code and contributing to the development of Optum Health products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Writing high-quality, efficient, and testable code that meets our coding and quality standards
  • Applying engineering strategy, application architecture, and component design principles
  • Collaborating with Pod Leaders and Product Owners to deliver defined work
  • Maintaining high standards of engineering quality within your team
  • Escalating operational risks and issues when necessary
  • Understanding customer settings to help build high-quality healthcare products

Who You'll Be:
You'll be an experienced software engineer with a solid background in agile methodologies and a passion for delivering high-value products. You'll be confident in your decision-making and have solid software design and programming skills.

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • Commercial experience in agile software engineering methodologies and processes
  • Demonstrated solid judgement and autonomy in decision-making
  • Good software design experience
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies, including C# and SQL
  • Proven excellent communication and leadership skills across all levels
  • Experience evaluating and selecting development tools and techniques aligned with agile practices
