Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.

These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways.

• Modernization & Cloud Migration Leadership
  • Lead the end to end modernization and migration of ETL platforms and Facets processes from on premises environments to Azure
  • Own the re-architecture of legacy systems, including decomposition of monolithic ETL and Facets workflows into scalable, cloud native Azure solutions
  • Identify and eliminate redundant, obsolete, or low value components, simplifying the overall architecture while improving reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Drive transformation from traditional ETL tooling and patterns to modern, Python based and cloud optimized data processing frameworks
• Architecture & Engineering Governance
  • Define target state architecture for data integration, batch processing, and transactional workloads supporting Facets and downstream systems
  • Provide hands on technical leadership and design guidance for:
    • Python based ETL and orchestration solutions
    • Azure data and compute services
    • SQL Server modernization and migration patterns
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, resiliency, compliance and cost constraints
• Delivery & Execution
• Plan and execute phased migration strategies that minimize business disruption, including parallel runs, data reconciliation, and controlled cutovers
  • Lead delivery using Agile frameworks, ensuring predictable outcomes across sprints, releases, and milestones
  • Manage cross functional dependencies across architecture, platform, security, and business teams
  • Proactively identify delivery risks, technical debt, and migration bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution
• People & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and manage high performing engineering teams responsible for cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  • Act as the primary technology leader for Facets and ETL modernization, partnering closely with business, product, and enterprise architecture stakeholders
  • Communicate modernization progress, risks, and value realization clearly to senior leadership
• Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff
• Impact of work is most often at the operational or local business unit or market level

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of overall IT experience, with a strong foundation in enterprise application and data platforms
• 5+ years in a technical leadership or people management role, leading engineers through complex transformation initiatives
• 4+ years of hands on Python experience, specifically in ETL, batch processing, data transformation, or system integration
• 4+ years of Azure experience, delivering production grade solutions using cloud native services
• Experience leading on prem to Azure migrations, including refactoring, re platforming, and decommissioning legacy components
• Experience working with or modernizing Facets platforms and related data/process flows is strongly preferred

• Experience re architecting legacy systems to remove redundancy and improve scalability and operational efficiency
• Solid experience with SQL Server, including schema design, performance tuning, and migration strategies
• Solid knowledge of Azure architecture patterns, including compute, storage, networking, and security
• Solid proficiency in Python for data processing, orchestration, and integration
• Deep understanding of ETL concepts, data pipelines, and large scale batch processing

• Solid experience working in Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Ability to balance hands on technical depth with delivery ownership and team leadership
• Proven ability to operate in complex, regulated, enterprise environments
