At Optum Health, financial discipline and accountability are critical to enabling better care, improved outcomes, and lower costs. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting value-based care (VBC) initiatives through advanced financial analysis, performance reporting, and strategic insight. This role partners closely with finance leadership, business leaders, and clinical stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights that help drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and improved patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Lead the development, execution, and management of complex financial and operational analyses related to value-based care performance
- Produce and maintain recurring and ad-hoc financial reporting that clearly communicates actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast, and budget
- Interpret trends in medical cost, revenue, utilization, and margin performance to support fact-based decision making
- Insights & Storytelling with Data
- Research economic drivers and industry-specific metrics to support financial planning and performance management
- Translate complex data sets into clear, compelling financial narratives for executive and senior leadership audiences
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations with confidence and clarity
- Process Improvement & Controls
- Establish and enhance financial processes, reporting methodologies, and analytical tools
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and accountability in financial results and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and business operations

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years of financial analysis, accounting, or related experience, preferably in healthcare or value-based care
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, CPA, or CMA
- Experience in healthcare finance, managed care, or value-based care environments
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, and/or PeopleSoft Financials
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
