Use your Sharp Analytical Skills to research, review, compile, and report key information. Make solid assessments based on data analysis and provide the Account Team with clear reporting and explanation to help support our commercial clients' needs.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will grow and develop as you conduct and manage outcomes of various research and analytics. You will be challenged to review, analyze, and validate data impacting members, clients, OptumRx, and/or business processes. You will also play a key role in creating automation of forms, templates, and other tools in support of team processes. As a key resource, you must be organized, maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to always meet deadlines. Success in this role will require ability to prioritize, be flexible, resourceful, dynamic, and self-driven!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Commercial book of business and associated teams
- Investigate member and client issue remediation by reviewing and analyzing pharmacy claims identifying patterns and trends, such as effects of patient pay components, drug cost changes, and accumulator balance impacts
- Closely collaborate with our internal team, the account team, and other functional departments
- Provide explanations, interpretations, and recommendations related to analysis results as needed for account teams, external clients, and consultants
- Demonstrate and apply understanding of health care industry trends and their drivers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of previous experience within a Report Analyst or Business Analyst role, using analytical or critical thinking skills
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, conditional formulas, etc.
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven to be proactive with excellent problem-solving skills
- Proven to be detail oriented, specifically focused on data accuracy and presentation
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic setting and to work well under pressure is essential
- Proven ability to work both independently and within a team setting
- Proven ability to develop and interpret requestors' reporting criteria and intent to produce informative and actionable results
- Proven solid time management skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven solid desire to make continuous improvements in all areas of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RxClaim
- Knowledge of PBM and benefit structure
- Intermediate SQL database skills with the ability to create/modify queries and joins
