Level2 is building the next generation of virtual care for individuals with chronic conditions including Type 2 diabetes. This business is dedicated to empowering patients to manage and achieve remission of their condition through an end-to-end virtual care offering. This position reports directly to the Registered Dietitian (RD) Team Lead. The RD will work closely in collaboration with other members of the Level2 Care Team, including Lifestyle Coaches, Nurses, Providers, Support and Enrollment teams to achieve member outcomes and contribute to the success of the Level 2 business.
The Level2 RD is responsible for conducting RD referral visits for Level2 members using telephonic, video and potentially group education platforms. Referrals for RD visits are made from the care team for in-depth nutrition education and MNT for diabetes and related comorbidities, such as cardiovascular health and chronic kidney disease. Referrals entail a blend of coaching skills and nutrition education expertise (MNT) to help promote behavior change. Registered Dietitians must understand how to interpret and educate to members' CGM data, disease state information, biometrics, and other data that may be available to understand a member's health conditions.
There may be projects the RD will be involved in depending on business needs, including group coaching, contributing to newsletter content, the development of educational resources and nutritional trainings.
RD's are expected to maintain their RD licensure during employment with L2.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess members' nutrition needs based on medical history, lifestyle and diabetes management goals
- Analyze data from continuous glucose monitors (CGM's) and any other available technology
- Provide nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for diabetes and comorbidities using evidence-based information. This may include education on healthy eating patterns, carb counting, heart healthy eating, and weight management
- Assist member progression through the stages of behavior change by utilizing motivational interviewing and coaching skills. Must possess the ability to empathize, motivate, and encourage all members towards healthy changes
- Conduct group coaching sessions that focus on education and lifestyle changes through coaching behavior change models
- Collaborate with and refer to other members of the care team including providers, nurses and lifestyle coaches to ensure comprehensive member focused care
- Monitor members' progress, adjust nutrition plans as needed and provide ongoing support
- Document referral outcomes using an electronic health record

Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Dietitian with an active and unrestricted license in state of residence
- Ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
- 1+ years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietician
- 1+ years of coaching/behavior change experience with proven results
- Experience working with groups and individuals virtually (ie video conference, telephone, etc)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience working in HIPAA regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) communication skills
- National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) or working on attaining it
- Additional professional certification in health and wellness (i.e. CDCES)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
