The Director, Business Process, is a senior leader within the Clinical Solutions Risk Adjustment Data Operations team, responsible for the end-to-end design, delivery, and management of business processes. This role requires leveraging a matrixed environment of data, technology, and global teams to drive operational excellence. Optum seeks a proactive, intellectually curious leader with solid critical thinking skills, someone who consistently demonstrates accountability for business process management and quality, and who excels at navigating issue management and conflict resolution in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the full spectrum of business process activities end-to-end for the Clinical Solutions Risk Adjustment Data Operations business, ensuring seamless integration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all stages of process design, implementation, and management

  • Foster a Partnership Matrix by collaborating across business leaders, partners, and data technology teams to ensure flawless execution of end-to-end business processes and drive innovation, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to deliver growth and value
  • Proactively support the continuous development of high performing teams & individual performance while cultivating team engagement

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent professional experience in business process management, data analytics, healthcare, or a related field
  • Proven extensive experience in senior leadership roles, with a proven track record of designing, delivering, and managing end-to-end business processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, including the ability to interpret, visualize, and extract actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Proven deep understanding of data architecture flows, how data is structured, integrated, and moves across systems to support business processes and informed decision-making
  • Demonstrated proficiency knowledge in Business Intelligence and data visualization tools, with a solid ability to collaborate with principal data analysts and data engineers

  • Advanced degrees and industry certifications
  • Post-graduate degree and/or Industry certifications in relevant field
  • Accredited qualification in business management & leadership
  • Proven working knowledge of the US healthcare industry
  • Proven experience leading and executing continuous change initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in people leadership and driving employee performance
