Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implementation
    • Data Mapping and Transformation
      • File Mapping: Complete file mapping based on layouts and requirements provided by Project Managers
      • Business Logic: Document business logic for transforming data into product specifications
      • Data Quality Checks: Run and interpret quality checks against loaded data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Data Extraction / Transfer
    • Extract data from client source systems and transfer it to internal Optum servers
  • Data Transformation

  • Author and test ETL processes to convert data formats. This includes cleaning, filtering, aggregating, enriching, normalizing, and encoding data for analysis, processing, or integration
  • Troubleshooting and Support
    • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot issues raised by Project Managers and cross-functional teams, from root cause identification to resolution
    • Support Requests: Handle support requests and deliver timely solutions to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate closely with Clients, Project Managers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
    • Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation of specifications and processes
    • Communication: Effectively communicate complex concepts - both verbally and in writing - to team members and clients
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment).   • Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any Engineering field
    • 2+ years of experience working with ETL and Data Warehousing services in Cloud Environments (AWS/Azure)
    • Technical Qualifications
    • Database Knowledge: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
    • ETL Tools: MSBI (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS), Informatica
    • SQL and Scripting: SQL, Python, Scala
    • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS
    • Big Data Technologies: Databricks, Hadoop, Apache Spark
    • Core Skills
      • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
      • Technical aptitude with a quick learning curve for new technologies
      • Documentation
      • Proven ability to contribute to technical documentation of specifications and processes

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • US Healthcare Knowledge
    • Health Information Systems: Working knowledge
    • Clinical Data Analysis
    • Clinical Processes: Understanding of clinical workflows and vocabulary
    • SQL Skills: Ability to query large datasets and optimize queries

    • Organized: Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ownership: Demonstrates accountability and ownership of responsibilities
