The Business Analysis Consultant is a critical role in the Clinical Solutions - Data Operations team and will be responsible for end-to-end Incident management and resolution leveraging a matrixed environment of data, technology & global teams. Optum is looking for a curious, critical thinking & initiative-taking individual who is proactive in taking accountability for incident management and resolution to a high standard.
Schedule: This is a full-time position with standard working hours of Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
Primary Responsibilities of the Business Analysis Consultant:
- Incident Identification and Prioritization: The ability to immediately identify incidents, categorize them based on their impact and urgency, assign priority, and initiate resolution efforts.
- Ownership and Accountability: Clear ownership of incidents to ensure tracking, monitoring, and closure of each case with an emphasis on accountability.
- Effective Communication: Maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders about the incident, actions being taken, and expected resolution timelines. This reassures stakeholders while managing expectations.
- Prompt Response and Resolution: Focus on restoring normal operations as quickly as possible with minimal disruption to the business, following Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Problem Solving and Escalation Capabilities: Diagnosing the cause of incidents, implementing resolutions effectively, and escalating complex incidents to higher levels when necessary.
- Documentation and Tracking: Recording detailed information for each incident, including reference numbers, descriptions, actions taken, responsible personnel, and resolution outcomes.
- Feedback Loop for Improvement: Capturing lessons learned from incident resolution to refine processes and prevent the recurrence of similar issues.
- Multi-path Resolution: Planning and executing parallel solutions during critical incidents to minimize delays and optimize outcomes.
- Resource Management and Coordination: Ensuring efficient utilization of available resources and seamless coordination across teams during incident resolution.
- Governance and Monitoring: Establishing governance mechanisms to oversee the incident management process, ensuring compliance with standards and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications of the Business Analysis Consultant:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited University or College or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to influence across all levels of an organization
- Proven experience working in an Incident Management / Resolution capacity
Preferred Qualifications of the Business Analysis Consultant:
- Working knowledge of the US Healthcare Industry
- Post-graduate degree in relevant field
- Project & change management experience
Soft Skills of the Business Analysis Consultant:
- Excellent communication, facilitation, documentation and interpersonal skills
