Lead Product Manager, Time and Labor
Why UKG:
At UKG, the work you do matters. The code you ship, the decisions you make, and the care you show a customer all add up to real impact. Today, tens of millions of workers start and end their days with our workforce operating platform. Helping people get paid, grow in their careers, and shape the future of their industries. That's what we do.
We never stop learning. We never stop challenging the norm. We push for better, and we celebrate the wins along the way. Here, you'll get flexibility that's real, benefits you can count on, and a team that succeeds together. Because at UKG, your work matters-and so do you.
About the Role:
We have an exceptional opportunity for a Lead Product Manager to drive the future of our Time and Labor product line within the Pro WFM Suite. In this critical individual contributor role, you will own the identification, design, delivery, and optimization of solutions for a core product used by millions of employees globally each month across our human capital management and workforce management applications.
You will be highly collaborative, working with a diverse set of partners, including external customers (buyers, administrators, HR users, and employees) as well as internal stakeholders who implement and deliver our products. As a domain expert, you will serve as the product lead for cross-functional development teams, guiding initiatives and ensuring successful execution for both mature and evolving global products within the Time and Labor domain.
As a Lead Product Manager, you will focus on deeply understanding the Time and Labor market, customer needs, technical possibilities, and business impact. You will bring a strategic perspective to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and enhanced user experience across time tracking, scheduling, absence management, and related modules. Exceptional communication, influence, and collaboration skills are essential. You will actively engage with customers (internal and external), engineering, design, and other stakeholders to uncover latent needs, define innovative solutions, and build alignment around the product roadmap.

You will be responsible for shaping and executing the vision for specific areas within the Time and Labor product line, delivering incremental and measurable value to customers. This includes continuous learning from customers, partners, and the broader Product organization. You will own your product areas end-to-end, ensuring successful releases through strong team collaboration, continuous improvement, and clear representation of the voice of the customer. You will define product metrics, establish mechanisms to collect and analyze data, and balance qualitative and quantitative insights to drive ongoing learning and customer-centric outcomes.
In addition, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of UKG's AI-powered workforce management capabilities, including the integration of agentic AI systems that can autonomously assist, recommend, and take action on behalf of users. You will identify high-impact opportunities where AI agents reduce friction, improve decision quality, and enhance employee and manager experiences across Time and Labor workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and own the strategic direction, roadmap, and feature prioritization for components within the Time and Labor product line, aligning with business objectives and market needs.
• Customer & Market Insight: Conduct in-depth customer research (qualitative and quantitative), market analysis, and competitive analysis to understand user needs, pain points, and emerging opportunities.
• Outcome-Oriented Product Leadership: Define clear problem statements and measurable outcomes (OKRs), ensuring teams focus on delivering customer and business impact, not just feature output.
• Requirements & Definition: Translate strategic objectives and user needs into detailed product requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Cross-Functional Product Leadership: Act as the directly responsible individual (DRI) for product within agile teams, collaborating closely with engineering, UX/UI, and QA to ensure successful delivery.
• Data-Driven Optimization: Define, track, and analyze key product success metrics. Implement structured experimentation and use insights to continuously improve product performance.
• Stakeholder Communication & Influence: Communicate product strategy, roadmaps, and updates effectively across internal and external audiences, building alignment and enabling successful go-to-market execution.
• AI Product Thinking: Translate emerging AI capabilities (LLMs, agent orchestration frameworks, decision systems) into practical, customer-facing value. Ensure AI features incorporate appropriate human-in-the-loop controls, explainability, and trust, especially in regulated workforce scenarios.
• Agentic AI Strategy & Application: Identify and deliver high-impact agentic AI use cases (e.g., automated scheduling recommendations, proactive compliance alerts, intelligent timecard resolution, conversational assistants).
• Domain Expertise: Maintain deep expertise in Time and Labor, including regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and AI applications in workforce management.
• Voice of Customer Leadership: Act as the authoritative voice of the customer by systematically capturing, synthesizing, and operationalizing insights from research, usage data, support signals, and field feedback. Build and maintain closed-loop feedback systems to ensure insights directly inform roadmap decisions. Balance explicit (stated) and latent (behavioral) needs to drive meaningful product outcomes and exceptional user experiences.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, including senior-level individual contributor experience (Senior Product Manager or equivalent) within scaling SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated success driving customer-centric outcomes through matrixed, cross-functional product development teams.
• Proven ability to build and sustain a strong customer-first mindset in solving user and business problems.
• Strong analytical skills, leveraging data, user research, and business cases to inform decisions in enterprise SaaS environments.
• Comfortable presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.
• Track record of balancing product discovery with delivery of high-quality user experiences.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or generative AI capabilities into SaaS products, with a clear understanding of strengths, limitations, and real-world applications.
• Familiarity with agent-based systems, orchestration patterns, or AI-driven workflow automation (e.g., multi-step reasoning, tool use, decision support systems).
We work in a hybrid model. 3 days per week in the office is required. Local candidates highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Demonstrated success launching enterprise SaaS products.
• Deep functional and technical knowledge of Time and Labor (T&L) systems (e.g., timekeeping, scheduling, absence management) or adjacent domains.
• Strong understanding of Workforce Management and Human Capital Management systems.
• Experience building or managing AI-powered or AI-assisted enterprise workflows, including familiarity with LLM patterns (prompting, evaluation, guardrails, hallucination mitigation).
• Experience defining and tracking AI-specific product metrics such as trust, accuracy, intervention rate, and user reliance.
• Strong data-driven prioritization and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity in both new product development and mature product evolution.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
What Success Looks Like:
• Customers experience measurable improvements in productivity, compliance, and ease-of-use within Time and Labor workflows.
• AI-powered capabilities are trusted, adopted, and demonstrably reduce manual effort and decision friction.
• Product decisions consistently reflect a deep and validated understanding of customer needs.
• Teams operate with clarity around outcomes, metrics, and priorities, delivering incremental value at high velocity.
