About the Team Leader Role

As Team Leader of the Amplify Team, you will lead, inspire, and motivate a high-performing team in Krakow, delivering projects across two key areas: (i) Analytics, Automation, Data Science and (ii) Business Process (design, execution, optimization).

Most of your actions will hinge on two core and essential activities: people management and performance management.

You will be in charge of the team morale & engagement, infusing the Uber culture, promoting its core values and ensuring the crew evolves in a cheerful working atmosphere.

You will assist each of your direct reports, facilitating their work, answering questions, removing impediments. You will manage enforcement of policies, ensuring internal communications are accurately distributed and understood whenever needed.

You will mentor talents towards continuous improvements, helping them grow and achieve operational excellence. You will build together, with each of them, a personal development plan, with landmarks and target dates, making sure they find the development opportunities that suit them best.

To maintain the operational continuity throughout the year, you will ensure capacities and capabilities are in step with the work the Team commits to deliver, by interacting with the Operations Coordinators who are in charge of anticipating demands, managing pipelines and delivering backlogs.

While ensuring schedules and time trackings are coherent with the delivery planning, you will contribute in preparing reports, including attendance and escalating issues if necessary.

You will be recruiting new talents, accompanying them throughout their onboarding, assisting and inspiring them individually, providing real-time feedback, then assessing their performances.

About the Team

The mission: backing creativity with operational efficiency.

The Amplify team, cross-functional, supports operations across four core areas:

  • Business Processes (design, execution, optimization)
  • Automation (process automation, real-time monitoring, refactoring)
  • Data Analytics (query, deepdive, self-operating dashboard, data pipeline)
  • Data Science (modeling, machine learning, patterns identification, prediction)

The span of work is large, covering multiple verticals (such as Uber Rides, Eats, High Capacity Vehicle, Payment, Strategy & Planning) and Mega-Regions (such as Global, EMEA, US&C).

Based in the Krakow Center of Excellence, we're offering a hybrid model of working (60% minimum based out of our Krakow office, 40% optional work from home).

  • People Management - lead, inspire, and support team members in their daily work
  • Performance Management - drive individual and team perf. through regular feedback
  • Recruitment, Onboarding - attract, hire, onboard new talent (coaching, goal setting, guidance)
  • Development - conduct 1:1s and support personal growth with skills development, career plan
  • Motivation, Operational Excellence - maintain strong morale while delivering high performance
  • Engagement, Reward & Recognition - foster a motivating environment, celebrate achievements
  • Scheduling & Tracking - prepare schedules, ensuring proper individual time and tasks tracking
  • Adherence to Standards - ensure alignment with company policies and team's operating model
  • Culture & Values - embody and diffuse Uber's values, in partnership with management and HR

What You'll Need

  • Previous management experience (preferred)
  • Empathy, composure, resilience, and good problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Capacity to build and maintain a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Solid analytical skills and proficiency with GSheets, GDocs, GForms, GSlides
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, as well as collaboratively with the org.
  • Excellent verbal communication (clear, positive, adapted to the audience, in english)
  • Exceptional written communication (concise, precise, well balanced and structured, in english)
