Team Lead, Retail & Strategic Verticals Canada - Uber Advertising
About the Role
Uber Advertising is evolving. We've moved past the foundation phase and are now unlocking a new era of high-intent advertising. In Canada, our Retail & Strategic Verticals business is a massive engine for this next phase of growth.
As the Team Lead, you aren't just managing a book of business; you are the architect of our strategy for these vital, expanding verticals. You will lead a high-performing Sales and Account Management team, bridging the gap between big-picture brand storytelling and granular, data-driven performance. Your mission is to deepen partnerships with Canada's top enterprise retailers and high-potential strategic accounts, unlocking innovative digital ad opportunities across our ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve the Retail & Strategic Verticals Ads sales and account management strategy with a focus on sustainable growth, client retention, and cross-platform expansion.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of Client Partners (CPs) and Partner Managers (PMs), setting clear goals, tracking performance, and coaching top talent.
- Drive continued revenue growth from a maturing business by deepening relationships with key retail advertisers and unlocking incremental spend opportunities.
- Partner closely with cross-functional leaders (including Marketing, Product, Operations, Merchant teams, and Analytics) to align on strategy, priorities, and customer experience.
- Optimize internal processes and tools to scale execution, improve performance visibility, and ensure strong operational rigor.
- Inform product strategy by sharing the voice of the customer - advocating for features and solutions that enhance advertiser outcomes across awareness, trial, and conversion.
- Shape go-to-market plans and collateral in partnership with Ads Global Partnership Solutions, ensuring a consistent message across external channels and field teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time experience.
- Advertising sales experience.
- Experience leading an advertiser or account sales team for a major advertiser, retail partner, or digital media agency.
- Proven track record of building and managing a multi-million dollar advertising business.
- Prior experience working with retail media networks, enterprise retailers, or strategic commercial verticals.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience at a digital media platform, retail media network, or large retail advertiser.
- Be customer-obsessed (users and merchants) and passionate about building great experiences for Uber users and partners.
- Focus on building businesses, not features. Experience building and leading businesses, including ownership and optimization of business performance metrics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse internal stakeholders and executive-level external partners.
- Exceptional communication skills, both within your team and with leadership and partners.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for learning.
