About the Team

Japan is one of Uber's fastest growing markets globally. With an extremely large TAM, innovative competitors, and a large, thriving Uber platform, this role will report in to the local Growth & Consumer operations team. The team's focus is to drive topline growth, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders - including product, marketing, legal, and policy - to build strategy and execute on growth initiatives.

About the Role

This role is a unique opportunity to help deliver best in class consumer experience - driving higher engagement on the platform through growth campaigns and product optimisation. You'll build out strategy, identify growth opportunities, understand consumer pain points, needs, and wants, and tailor our product to maximise engagement with our platform. You will discover new products to launch, build out the GTM strategy, and coordinate the product roll out, working closely with your cross-functional peers. Success will mean higher engagement, better consumer experience, and a more diverse product portfolio.

Your Impact in Role

  • Drive growth of our existing products: Develop and execute strategies that expand rider adoption of taxi, premium, reserve & other offerings and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Shape the customer value proposition: Ensure our product portfolio is meeting consumer expectations by optimising existing products and launching new ones.
  • Set and scale standards: Establish clear guidelines for what good looks like in our consumer journey.
  • Coordinate product launches: Build GTM strategies for new product launches.
  • Enable operational excellence: Create playbooks and processes that allow for smooth, scalable expansion of product offerings.
  • Champion the rider: Be the go-to expert for rider experience. Understand why riders use Uber, what they like and dislike, and ensure Uber offers the highest quality service.

What You Will Bring

  • Bilingual: Japanese and English fluency
  • Experience: 5+ years in strategy, operations, consulting, or consumer product management.
  • Product mindset: Strong intuition for customer needs and ability to craft compelling experiences.
  • Cross-functional skills: Proven ability to work across product, ops, and marketing to deliver impactful launches.
  • Commercial acumen: Ability to evaluate opportunities, prioritize effectively, and deliver business results.
  • Analytical skills: Comfort with data to guide decision-making and measure impact.
  • Stakeholder management: Skilled at building trust and alignment across global, regional, and local teams.
  • Execution drive: Highly organized, able to manage multiple initiatives and deliver at speed.
