Strategy & Operations Manager, Merchant Financials
About the Role
Uber is revolutionizing the future of grocery & retail by creating the world's leading marketplace for on-demand delivery across local commerce. As part of the Global Operations team for Retail, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a top-tier experience for merchants on the Uber platform. You will support merchants in growing their businesses through Uber, providing world-class delivery experiences to customers.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively with local operations, financial and commercial teams globally, as well as with Retail leadership and product development teams. You will be responsible for supporting strategic projects to improve our merchants' experience in our platform, improving internal workflows, and helping to drive overall business growth and partner success. You'll be working closely with a wide range of teams and stakeholders, from Product, Ops, Finance, Account Management, Legal, Tax and others to ensure our merchants have the tools they need to thrive within the Uber ecosystem.
This position requires a blend of strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise, collaboration skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. Given the fast-paced environment, we are seeking a highly adaptable candidate who thrives in a dynamic, ever-evolving culture.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Project Management:Lead the design and execution of global projects to improve processes related to merchant financial flows, working with key stakeholders across multiple countries and teams, including Operations, Product, Finance, Account Management, Support, etc.
- Financial Optimization:Design and deliver strategic frameworks to deliver positive impact to our P&L by conducting in-depth analyses of complex financial variables and performance metrics.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:Synthesize complex datasets into actionable recommendations for leadership to drive global financial improvements and operational efficiency.
- Merchant Success Advocacy:Implement global process improvements that enhance the merchant experience while supporting long-term partner growth and satisfaction. Identify areas for optimization and implement improvements that enhance the value merchants receive from Uber's platform.
- Support Product Launches:Contribute to the development and launch of new product offerings to improve our merchants' experience, optimize our financial operations, and deliver positive impact to Uber's P&L.
- Strategic Communications:Maintain all key stakeholders informed of projects and strategic initiatives progress to ensure executive alignment and clarity.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related field
- 3 - 7 years of experience in business operations and/or business analytics
- Strong analytical thinking, judgement, and decision-making skills
- Strong stakeholder management experience and skills
- Ability to solve complex business problems across multiple teams and product areas
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Advanced English (verbal and written)
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, performance optimization, and data manipulation across large datasets
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field
- Industry experience in grocery, retail, or e-commerce environments
