About the Role
The Delivery Hydration Platform Team manages several essential services within the Uber Delivery tech stack. We manage millions of requests per second, ensuring that customers receive their data as quickly and efficiently as possible. We design and build systems to handle extreme request and data volumes and are experts in data ingestion flows and caching strategies. We are a backend platform team responsible for the health and scalability of Uber Delivery's most crucial data sets for our consumer facing application.

- Lead projects to build and expand the systems within the Hydration Platform
- Optimize large scale systems to save millions of dollars in compute costs

---- Basic Qualifications ----
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- 8+ years of full-time engineering experience
- Experience in hands-on software development with thoughtfulness of scale, latency and distributed architecture.
- Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java or any similar languages.
- Distributed Systems design experience
- Mentorship and leadership experience for less experienced engineers
- Experience being a tech lead on an engineering team
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Deep knowledge of Golang and its internal mechanics
- Previous experience managing services that receive millions of requests per second
- Experience with low level performance tuning for efficiency and latency
For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$189,000 per year - CAD$210,000 per year.
