Sr Strategy & Planning Associate

Today Sydney, Australia

About the Role

The Senior Strategy & Planning Associate will be a core member of the ANZ Restaurants Strategy & Planning (S&P) team, partnering with country leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to shape and execute the strategy for Uber Eats Restaurants in Australia & New Zealand.

You will combine deep analytical rigour, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management to identify growth opportunities, improve marketplace and P&L performance, and ensure we are executing against our most important priorities.

What You'll Need

Strategy, Insights & Problem Solving

- Develop a deep understanding of the ANZ Restaurants business, including growth drivers, unit economics, and competitive dynamics.
- Own structured deep-dive analyses (e.g. city, segment, product, or initiative) to size opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend clear actions.
- Build business cases and scenario models to inform strategic decisions on investments, trade-offs, and prioritisation.

Market Intelligence & Growth Bets

- Own market intelligence for ANZ Restaurants Delivery - tracking competitive moves, category and customer trends, and external signals; translate these into clear implications and recommendations for the business.
- Identify, size, and incubate new growth bets (e.g. new segments, products, or models), including framing hypotheses, designing tests, partnering with local and regional teams to execute pilots, and recommending scale-up or shut-down based on results.

Planning, Governance & Performance Management

- Support and co-lead annual and semi-annual strategic and financial planning cycles for ANZ Restaurants (targets, OKRs, key bets).
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track performance against plan (growth, CP, profitability, HC, key initiative metrics) and surface risks/upsides early.
- Run or contribute to key governance rhythms (e.g. WBRs, MBRs, leadership reviews), driving clarity on what's working, what's not, and what we'll do next.

Cross-Functional Project Leadership

- Lead end-to-end strategic projects (0→1 and scale-up), from problem definition and analytics through design, alignment, and execution tracking.
- Partner closely with Central Ops, Local Ops, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Finance, Product, Policy & Legal to land cross-functional initiatives in the market.
- Translate global strategies into locally relevant plans for ANZ, and ensure local insights are fed back into regional/global roadmaps.

Stakeholder Management & Influence

- Act as a trusted thought partner to ANZ leadership, GMs, and functional leads, providing clear recommendations and framing trade-offs.
- Drive alignment across senior stakeholders, balancing regional/global priorities with ANZ realities.

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, operations, investment banking, business analytics, or S&P-type roles in high-growth environments.
- Demonstrated ability to turn data into insight and action - from framing the right questions, to structuring analysis, to landing clear recommendations.
- Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and comfort working with large datasets and financial / operational models.
