About the Role
Uber Eats' EMEA Competition Strategy & Insights (ES&P) team drives the most critical business decisions across the region - from capital allocation and market launches to GTM strategy. This role leads our Merchant Intelligence pillar, owning the data, dashboards, and insights that shape how Uber wins on the selection side across EMEA. You'll build the analytics foundation that informs where we grow, which merchants we prioritize, and how we position against competition with direct visibility to EMEA leadership.
What You'll Do
1. Lead the Merchant Intelligence pillar. Own the end-to-end development of EMEA-wide competitive merchant intelligence, providing the commercial and operations teams with the necessary insights into merchant categories to drive selection excellence.
2. Architect data infrastructure. Collaborate with local, regional, and global stakeholders and external vendors to build robust data capabilities and visualize insights that fuel progress.
3. Strategize with senior leadership. Communicate merchant landscape deep-dives and strategic reviews to the EMEA Leadership Team through MBRs and high-impact reports.
What You'll Need
1. 4+ years of professional experience in strategy, data science, or business intelligence, preferably within the tech, e-commerce, or food delivery sectors, or top-tier management consulting.
2. Technical expertise in SQL and Python, with a proven ability to query massive datasets, engineer pipelines, and transform raw data into decision-ready insights.
3. Direct experience developing and maintaining BI dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Mode, and managing Google Sheets/Excel at scale.
4. A history of distilling complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior-level stakeholders.
Bonus Points
1. Experience with the modeling of external data sets.
2. Knowledge of competitive intelligence sources and experience in vendor management.
3. Familiarity with EMEA marketplace dynamics, including food delivery and quick commerce.
4. Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and link analytical outputs to core business decisions.
5. Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics.
