Sr. Program Manager - Vendor Manager Retail
About the Role
At Uber, moving the real world means more than just rides-it's about reimagining how everything from groceries to electronics reaches a customer's door. As a Senior Vendor Manager for Retail, you are at the helm of this expansion. You aren't just managing third-party partners; you are building the global engine that allows Uber to scale into new retail categories like pharmacy, alcohol, and beyond.
This role is for someone who thrives in the "messy middle" of a growing business. You will navigate high stakes and extreme complexity, designing how our external partners handle high-value transactions and intricate fulfillment processes (like making sure the right item is picked from a shelf every single time). It's a fast-paced, high-ownership role where you'll need to stay calm under pressure, make hard calls with imperfect data, and balance aggressive growth with financial safety. If you are a builder who wants to turn ambiguity into a global standard, this is where you'll make your mark.
What You'll Do
- Build the Blueprint: Design and lead a multi-year strategy for our external partners (BPOs) to ensure they can support Uber's expansion into complex retail segments globally.

- Solve the "Hard" Problems: Navigate the technical and operational "messiness" of retail-such as managing varying store inventories and improving the precision of how items are picked and packed.
- Innovate Systems: Move fast to implement new reporting tools and sales processes that help our partners work more efficiently in a complex retail environment.
- Lead through Influence: Collaborate with senior leaders across the globe to align your partner strategy with Uber's massive delivery goals.
- Uplevel your Team: Act as a mentor and "talent architect," coaching other managers and setting a high bar for excellence across the global team.
- Navigate Tension: Balance the need for rapid speed with the necessity of high-precision execution, making smart trade-offs that protect the customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in sales operations, vendor management, or retail leadership within a high-growth, global environment.

- Financial & Analytical Acumen: Experience managing high-risk financial metrics (like fraud prevention) and using data (SQL, Salesforce) to drive decisions.
- Leadership of Leaders: A track record of coaching professional teams and developing a leadership bench.
- Global Mindset: Experience working across diverse international markets and an additional European language.
- Adaptability: The ability to lead through large-scale organizational shifts and process changes with grit and resilience.
