Software Engineer II - Stateful Deployment
About the Role
Our team is part of Odin, the Stateful Deployment platform at Uber. We are responsible for the deployment of Uber's 30+ stateful technologies like MySQL, Schemaless, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, HDFS, among others. Our platform enforces rollout policies, gathers signals and enables lockdowns, ensuring that changes to stateful technologies are rolled out incrementally, safely and reverted if signals suggest a potential issue.
We are responsible for the platform making thousands of weekly deployments, serving hundreds of thousands container updates, spanning throughout millions of containers and exabytes across multiple geographical regions with availability zones in both Uber's own data centers and multiple cloud vendors.
We have new and exciting opportunities in the space of onboarding k8s open source operators and deploying them safely into Uber's ecosystem in platforms. Balancing rapid experimentation without compromising safety is top of mind. Building and expanding our Deployment platform is key!
Our work directly impacts operational excellence, developer velocity, and overall system reliability at a global scale. If you're passionate about building robust, scalable infrastructure, this is your opportunity to shape the future of Uber's Core Infrastructure.
