Software Engineer II - Backend
About the Role
We build and maintain the core infrastructure of a d istributed, fault-tolerant platform that orchestrates mission-critical logic at scale. You'll work at the heart of the system, solving deep distributed systems challenges related to persistence, high concurrency, and extreme reliability. Your contributions will directly empower engineering teams to build stateful, resilient applications that handle massive throughput without data loss or downtime.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Design, implement, and test core components and new features of our distributed backend platform, primarily using Go.
- Diagnose and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks within a multi-tenant, distributed environment.
- Optimize and scale the platform's infrastructure, including the persistence layer, sharding mechanisms, and service discovery logic.
- Collaborate across teams by reviewing architectural designs, participating in technical discussions, and improving system documentation.
- Support system reliability by participating in an on-call rotation, ensuring the stability of services that other developers depend on.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong systems programming experience in Go (Golang), or deep expertise in languages like Java, C++, or Rust with a proven ability to pivot to Go quickly.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, including practical experience with concurrency primitives, fault tolerance, and consistency models.
- Proven track record of building, testing, and operating large-scale, high-availability services.
- Experience with persistent storage, including working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, or DynamoDB).
