Senior Software Engineer - CRM

About the Role

As a Software Engineer in the Business Applications team, you will be responsible for building critical applications and features at a global scale and delivering a world-class experience for the Uber Legal function on a global scale.

This role is instrumental in implementing features that will supplement the CRM tech stack that will help our Sales teams in areas of deal management and beyond.

This role will have a significant impact on Uber's results in areas of user growth, revenue, and global expansion.

What the Candidate Will Do

1. Lead and drive complex technical projects with significant ownership and autonomy, acting as a technical leader for the team.
2. Design, implement, and ship reliable and well-tested features to our users while setting high standards for code quality and maintainability.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders, solution architects, product managers, and other engineering teams to define project requirements, execution plans, and technical strategy.
4. Ensure that system designs, including APIs, architecture, and dependency selection, result in scalable, resilient solutions that minimize support costs and enhance the user experience, often solving for complex, ambiguous, or multi-system problems.
5. Create comprehensive documentation for the solutions, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational support documentation, championing best practices in documentation.
6. Mentor junior engineers and actively participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
7. Drive improvements in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. At least 6+ years of professional experience in software development.
3. Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis, and the ability to apply this knowledge to production systems.
4. Proficient in at least one modern programming language, such as Golang, Java, C#, or C++, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
5. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively interact with engineers, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe complex software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
6. Expert working knowledge of API design, development, and management for large-scale systems.
7. Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of resolving complex, cross-team issues.
8. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, taking ownership of large technical areas.

1. MS in Computer Science or related field.
2. Knowledgeable and an advocate for software engineering best practices throughout the entire software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
3. Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Salesforce, and hands-on experience with complex, large-scale cloud-based integrations.
4. Deep understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
5. Extensive experience working in Agile development environments, with a strong commitment to delivering iterative, high-quality solutions.
6. Enjoys solving complex, ambiguous business problems through innovative and technology-driven solutions, demonstrating a product-minded approach.
