Uber Eats was launched in Portugal in November 2017 and is now the most downloaded Food Delivery App. We are available in 100+ cities, delivering from over 12,000 stores (restaurants and others) and growing quickly!

Until recently, we focused on bringing the best dishes from the local spots you love and the ones you've always wanted to try. Now we are scaling Grocery & Retail too, delivering the best of Portugal, right when users want it.

By joining the Uber Eats Grocery and Retail team you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of commerce across Portugal. As an Account Executive, you'll be securing high-impact partners and expanding our marketplace. This isn't just a sales job, it's about creating a tangible impact on our platform and helping diverse businesses thrive.

You'll own the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closing deals. We're looking for a motivated and resilient self-starter who excels at building long-term, strategic partnerships. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams to craft winning proposals and ensure a seamless launch, all while acting as a strategic growth partner to our new merchants.

The right candidate will be customer-obsessed, results driven, with passion and grit, able to engage with all types of stakeholders, experienced in pitching and negotiating and able to leverage multiple levers (financial, strategic, operational) to build the strongest value proposition.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Sales Strategy & Processes: Co-develop the sales strategy and necessary processes to scale up our acquisition efforts with the highest potential partnerships. Be proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial in looking for new growth or improvement opportunities for Uber and potential partners to work with.
  2. Own the full sales cycle for Portugal, unlocking key retailers in high-growth verticals like Convenience, Pharma, Alcohol, and other strategic retail sectors
  3. Drive top-of-funnel activity by creatively prospecting and pitching new businesses to build a robust pipeline
  4. Negotiate and close complex deals with key stakeholders, guiding them through a multi-stage sales process
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including onboarding specialists, marketing, and operations, to ensure merchants have a strong launch and hit the ground running
  6. Act as a strategic partner during the first twelve weeks, ensuring new merchants achieve early success and strong performance on the platform

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. 5+ years of experience in a sales, business development, or commercial role, preferably within the retail sector
  2. A proven track record of delivering sales targets and successfully managing complex sales cycle
  3. A go-getter attitude with a strong sense of ownership and resilience
  4. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a consultative selling background focused on building long-term partnerships

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Proficiency with CRM tools like Salesforce for pipeline management and reporting
  2. Confident collaborating directly with managers of major businesses and ability to build strong working relationships with external partners.
  3. Ability to define plans, processes and tools with a creative and constructive mindset, as well as minimal supervision, with detailed execution for large-scale projects (eg. launching new products / categories, onboarding retail partners) and then deliver them to plan regardless of any surprises or ambiguity along the way.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity.
