Senior Product Designer - Merchant Onboarding

2 days ago San Francisco, CA

About the Role

The Uber Eats Merchant team is looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead improvements to the new merchant onboarding experience. This role will focus on Salesforce Sales Cloud, improving seller workflows, and designing intuitive, scalable solutions within the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS). The designer will play a key role in simplifying seller experiences, increasing productivity, and ensuring seamless integrations between sales tools and operational workflows.

You'll partner closely with merchants, account managers, sales teams, and UX Research to identify pain points and translate insights into thoughtful, end-to-end experiences. This role demands strong systems thinking, crisp execution, and the ability to solve complex problems in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.

You'll also be responsible for creating consistent, accessible designs that balance Salesforce-native components with Uber's design language to deliver polished, scalable seller tools.

What You Will Do

Strategy and Vision

  • Lead strategic discovery with UX research and cross-functional partners to diagnose user pain points and architect a compelling vision and long-term strategy for the ideal merchant onboarding experience.
  • Comfortably shift between high-level critical thinking (e.g., roadmap and strategy) and hands-on execution (e.g., detailed interaction design and research evaluation).

Workflow and Execution

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to introduce intelligent assistance, automation, and AI-driven experiences that significantly elevate seller productivity and reduce cognitive load.
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations, Sales Automation Engineering, and RevOps to identify friction points within the Salesforce Sales Cloud environment.
  • Create designs that simplify workflows, reduce manual data entry, and improve seller visibility across the Lead-to-Cash (L2C) process.
  • Lead design reviews, critiques, and sprints, taking end-to-end ownership of your projects from concept through final delivery and iteration.

Design Quality and Advocacy

  • Act as the quality leader for your domain, defining and advocating for exceptional design standards while enabling product teams to ship high-quality experiences efficiently.
  • Be the voice of the customer (internal users and merchants) and relentlessly champion solving core user problems throughout the design process.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Design experience
  • Exceptional UX/interaction and UI/visual design skills, evidenced by a strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates your ability to solve complex problems end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Experience shipping successful enterprise and B2B software products with a significant impact on the user experience and business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex design rationale and craft compelling presentations that drive strategic consensus and secure cross-functional buy-in.
  • Experience working with a third-party software stack that has application boundaries. Bonus points for experience with the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS), component architecture, and customization best practices.
  • Expertise in Figma and prototyping skills
  • Ability to manage stakeholders, requirements, and deliverables independently
  • Experience conducting and/or collaborating with user research and data science to demonstrate their respective insights.
  • Experience driving efficiency and innovation by integrating AI into design processes, empowering teams to deliver smarter, faster outcomes.
