About the Role

Sanctions compliance is a critical priority at Uber. We rigorously adhere to international sanctions laws, ensuring we do not engage in business with any prohibited parties identified on global sanctions lists.

This role will be responsible for the management and timely implementation and completion of the assigned global, regional (EMEA) and site level Compliance related projects for Sanctions Screening.

From design to data, strategy development, you need to love to get into the weeds with problems to figure out how to break down barriers, improve our organizational capabilities and build sustainable solutions. You will also be expected to think creatively, identify data trends, suggest improvements, support high-level escalations and be active in the creation of efficient processes and crafting of official reports.

This individual will work closely with Uber Payments, Program and Site leadership to make sure that the Sanctions program and direction of each project is on schedule, and meeting the objective it was designed for.

You will be working with a driven team, stakeholders and management and will often be required to skillfully multitask. You should be comfortable in an \"all hands on deck\" environment, able to operate and coordinate across multiple teams, be flexible yet assertive, and thrive in a dynamic and ever changing environment.

This role is all about ensuring the executional success of the project portfolio in EMEA Compliance within our COE and meeting the needs of the local and EMEA Compliance leadership.

02. Roadblock & Bug Management: Design tracking and reporting methods for technical roadblocks, reporting on rollout/launch issues, including monitoring and escalating bugs.
03. Issue Resolution & Escalation: Proactively resolve obstacles, drive progress, manage escalations, and provide team support, serving as the senior subject matter expert for escalations, including conducting PEP Reporting and Sanctions escalations (risk assessments and acting as an intermediary between S2 agents and regulated entity).
04. Change Management & Content: Oversee change management activities by reviewing and updating existing/new content based on policy changes, new product features, and process improvements. Ensure content consistency between BPO and COE, providing visibility of updates to all relevant stakeholders.
05. Training Development: Develop training material for BPO and COE content updates and participate in training sessions.
06. Quality Assurance & Improvement: Lead quality calibration sessions with the dedicated QA team to identify, recommend, and update BPO and COE content to improve work instructions and quality scores. Flag policy and procedure breaches to the regulated entity we work with, then proactively design, implement, and operationalize solutions for agents and local teams.
07. Access & Permissions Management: Manage program permissions for new agents or stakeholders requesting tool/dashboard access.
08. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Sanctions program to ensure overall program health, engaging stakeholders (e.g., Ops) to resolve broader Sanctions issues promptly.
09. Project Planning & Metrics: Individually plan projects, defining, measuring, and reporting on business metric goals for Sanctions activities.
10. Leadership Support & Ad-hoc Initiatives: Professionally support the Team Lead and management by driving ad-hoc initiatives and providing coverage for the TL when necessary.
11. Data Analysis & Decision Making: Utilize analytical skills to solve day-to-day problems, analyze data, and make regular project-related decisions.
