Program Lead - Global Data Governance

About the Role

As we build the Uber Delivery Commercial Operations team, we are looking for a Program Lead - Global Data Governance to break down complex problems cross-functionally to drive incremental & strategic value to business teams. The focus of the role will be on expanding a Data Governance program to establish a more unified data governance strategy as we execute digital transformations to improve systems scalability & sustainability.

In the role, you will focus on the global business priorities across Uber Delivery's Salesforce Data Governance Program. Your objective will be to standardize best data capabilities globally. You will act as the primary liaison across regional operations teams, cross-functional product teams, and the IT engineering team. Your day-to-day will be to scope & prioritize data requirements, design intelligent dashboard & systems alerts, connect cross-functionally with business & tech teams, etc.

The Delivery Commercial Operations team's mission is simply "Commercial Excellence," focused on scalable and sustainable systems & data infrastructure to drive insights & establish governance within our Uber Delivery business.

What you'll do

- Lead the program roadmap to scale process and tech projects to drive global data governance efforts, improve data quality, and lower costs
- Run a data-driven and clear requirement process to garner consensus and resource a prioritized project roadmap within a broader global program portfolio
- Document current state business processes globally and work with cross-functional partners to develop requirements for the proposed iterations and improvements
- Optimize data governance dashboards through discovery and design sessions, proactively communicating to facilitate successful project management
- Provide leadership with accurate reporting, insights on program effectiveness, trends on user experience, and analysis to inform potential process/systems improvement.
- Establish business review rhythms to drive accountability of existing processes, identify best practices for broader adoption, and communicate progress across the annual roadmap
- Ensure and Monitor business value creation for the data governance program
- Apply data governance frameworks and best practices and processes to the data domains/communities
- Implement the Data Governance operating model that includes designing Data Governance organization, roles and responsibilities, and success metrics.

What You'll Need

- Experience: 6+ years specifically in Data Governance Program Management
- Frameworks: Deep understanding of Data Governance frameworks and operating model design principles
- Documentation: Proven track record in process documentation and building Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Data Literacy: Understanding of complex data hierarchies (Account, Product, Legal Entity) and data management concepts (Profiling, Deduplication, Archival)

- Communication: Ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse stakeholders with clarity.

Preferred Qualifications

- Salesforce expertise: Strong understanding of SFDC architecture, relational databases, and experience with sales processes such as Lead-to-Cash processes and customer success
- Tech Stack: Experience with Data Governance tools (Informatica, Collibra), SQL and visualization tools (Tableau or similar)
- Compliance: Familiarity with SOX regulations, Contracts Management, and Product/Asset management
- Strategy: Experience designing data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage catalogs
- Data Lifecycle Management: Experience designing and developing technical governance solutions, including data dictionaries, lineage, and catalogs, while applying data profiling and discovery techniques to support Master Data Management (MDM) and Enterprise Data Warehouse standards
