Product Operations Manager, Tax & Compliance
About the Role
Uber's FinTech team is looking for a Product Operations Manager to assist in Tax & Compliance projects, align with partners and collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on Strategic and Support level requests.
In this role, you will work closely with Tax, Business Operations, Data, and Engineering teams on cross-team initiative analysis, planning, alignment, and execution. We are looking for a dedicated, tech-savvy person with business knowledge, who is able to assess impact in the area of Tax & Compliance, to follow up on delivery and cross-team dependencies during roll-out, and implement required changes in the relevant Uber systems.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Partner with Product, Tax, Data & Engineering teams during requirements definition, product testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Apply business configurations in the Uber Fintech systems and tools (responsible for hands on implementation of changes).
- Observe, analyze and reflect on project execution practices and cross-team collaboration (suggest opportunities for improvements, where relevant).
- Get delivery commitment from multiple Fintech teams and communicate within teams and externally on progress, status, and launch changes.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for product improvements and launches, and influence product, engineering, and operations roadmaps.
- Improve documentation and transparency of Fintech to business customers.

- Collaborate with key customers (legal, tax, policy, support etc) to prepare the product for launch
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a hands on role with responsibility of delivery/implementation (in addition to coordination, project management and process improvement)
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player who builds collaborative relationships and partners closely with others (internally and externally) to achieve ambitious outcomes in a constantly evolving, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, and demonstrated ability to influence and gain consensus at senior levels, and explain complex concepts in simple, accessible terms.
- Solid analytical abilities; ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data required to help make informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Tax, FinTech, etc. would be considered a plus
- SQL, Python or similar proficiency would be considered a plus
- Large scale, global project management experience
- Deep understanding of the user experience
- Ability to use data to inform and support critical decisions
