Product Designer II - Payments Experience
About the role
Payments are fundamental to Uber's global operation across every line of business, from a rider's fare in Paris to a courier's payout in São Paulo. This is high-stakes design work where you build user trust and reduce complexity within a global financial ecosystem, a core tenet of our mission to move the real world.
You will join a hands-on, international team in our Amsterdam tech center, responsible for the end-to-end Payments experience on both Earner and Consumer platforms. Navigating ambiguous technical and regulatory constraints is the norm here, offering depth for continuous growth and impact that directly influences millions of users daily.
What you'll do
- Design and ship secure, highly usable end-to-end payment and account experiences across all Uber apps (Rides, Eats, Freight, etc.).
- Translate complex platform requirements and regulatory constraints into simple, elegant design solutions that seamlessly integrate into the user journey.
- Drive cross-functional alignment by acting as the design domain expert, patiently negotiating trade-offs between speed, user value, and technical capacity.
- Define a coherent design vision and strategy for new payment features, translating ambiguous problem statements into clear execution plans.
- Harness raw user data, including UX research insights and quantitative metrics, to validate hypotheses and relentlessly iterate on design improvements.
- Elevate the standard for design quality across the entire Payments organization by implementing and advocating for our design language and systematic reusable components.
