Partner Solutions and Engineering Lead
Today• London, United Kingdom
About the Role
Uber Eats Engineering is building a small, high-impact team in the UK focused on restaurant technology integrations-POS, middleware, ordering, menu/catalog, payments, and operational systems that restaurants run on. This lead role will be both hands-on and people-leading, shipping production integrations while building a "mini ninja team" and a repeatable system for how Uber engages, onboards, and scales with the restaurant tech ecosystem. You'll have outsized influence on reliability, onboarding speed, and partner experience across the region.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
- Own a set of strategic restaurant tech relationships and deliver production integrations (design, build, test, launch, operate).
- Build and lead a lean EMEA-based squad (typically 2-5 engineers over time): hiring, coaching, code reviews, and setting execution pace.
- Create repeatable integration "plugins" (patterns, libraries, templates, runbooks) to reduce onboarding time and improve integration quality.
- Partner closely with Engineering/Product/BD/Ops teams to align roadmaps, translate partner needs into technical work, and unblock launches.
- Establish integration health visibility: dashboards, alerts, failure triage loops, and continuous improvement of partner and customer outcomes.
- Regional expert on the ecosystem and local go-to for product insights and MVPs
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- Hands-on software engineering experience building and shipping production integrations (APIs, webhooks, SDKs, distributed services) with strong debugging depth.
- Technical leadership experience (tech lead, lead engineer, TLM or EM with strong IC output), including code reviews, mentorship, and driving delivery through ambiguity.
- Experience collaborating with external partners/customers in a technical capacity (partner engineering, solutions engineering, platform engineering, developer relations, or similar).
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Familiarity with restaurant systems (POS, KDS, OMS, menu/catalog sync, payment flows, delivery aggregation/middleware) and their real-world constraints.
- Proven "player-coach" track record: leading a small team while staying deeply in the code and owning critical deliverables end-to-end.
- Strong systems design instincts around reliability, observability, and scalability (SLOs, error budgets, monitoring, incident response patterns).
- Experience building reusable integration patterns (reference implementations, certification/testing harnesses, self-serve onboarding, partner tooling).
