About the Role

At Uber, we pride ourselves on the exceptional Legal team we've built. This role is part of the U.S. Litigation team, which defends and prosecutes a wide range of commercial litigation, ranging from demand letters and subpoenas to some of the largest and most cutting edge litigation matters in the country - regulatory, antitrust, marketing, IP, privacy, securities, accessibility, contract, unfair competition, and everything in between, for all business lines within the Uber family. Our paralegal team is entrusted with significant substantive work, both internally and public facing, while also providing classic matter support and organization to our in-house attorneys and outside counsel. We are looking for an ambitious, organized, detail-oriented individual who can help us provide efficient support to the business.

What you'll do:

- Manage a high volume caseload in all phases of the litigation lifecycle, including discovery, motion practice, and trial/alternative dispute resolution in the U.S.
- Negotiate resolutions with claimants and represent Uber in mediation, arbitration, and small claims court
- Work closely with many internal teams to investigate claims and gather information
- Respond directly to third party subpoena requests
- Assist with administrative requests, including high volume processing related to case intake and management

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum 4 years experience as a paralegal or equivalent experience
- B.A/B.S. required, paralegal certificate preferred

- Experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with a team player mindset
- Ability to manage competing priorities and switch between different types of tasks seamlessly and efficiently throughout the day
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience conducting investigations, fact gathering, and document review
- Willingness to help out wherever needed, no task too big or small to support the team
- Technical know-how with at least an intermediate level of computer skills, including a working knowledge of Google suite, Excel, Word, Adobe, and other web-based applications
