About the Role

Our Operations teams work where Uber's technology meets the real world. We own country-specific business outcomes and bridge our overall business strategy with local needs.

As the Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in executing an ambitious roadmap designed to meet our business growth and expansion targets.

In this high-impact role, you'll navigate ambiguity to bridge the gap between strategy and execution, taking critical growth initiatives from initial concept to full implementation. By leading cross-functional projects across supply growth, marketplace reliability, and product innovation, you will directly own the strategies that accelerate our trip volume and revenue.

You will work closely with several operational and functional teams including EMEA central operations teams, Safety, Marketing, Legal, Business Development, Policy & Comms teams as well as other HQ stakeholders across the business.

This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to drive the growth and scale of Uber's mobility business in Portugal.

What the Candidate Will Do

- Drive Strategic Growth: Lead and execute supply growth and engagement initiatives to ensure sustainable network expansion. You'll work closely with local partners to expand fleet coverage and driver adoption.
- Optimize the Marketplace: Identify, analyze, and solve core marketplace challenges, such as dispatch inefficiencies and low acceptance rates, to ensure every rider gets a ride and every driver maximizes their earnings.
- Product Innovation & Launch: Manage the end-to-end launch of new product features. You will serve as the operational voice for Portugal in global product discussions, influencing the roadmap with on-the-ground insights.
- Data-Driven Problem Solving: Rigorously monitor business metrics and marketplace performance. You'll conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover root causes and translate those insights into proactive, executed solutions.
- End-to-End Ownership: Define and prioritize initiatives using data to improve reliability and increase trip volume, owning the project lifecycle from initial concept to implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience: 3-5 years of experience applying rigorous analysis to solve complex business problems (e.g., consulting, investment banking, finance, tech, or operations);
- Full professional fluency in both English and Portuguese is required;
- Analytical Mindset: Proven data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment;
- Execution & Ownership: A self-starter who can identify opportunities and proactively drive implementation. You are a "doer" who thrives on mobilizing people and resolving problems;
- Adaptability: High adaptability to change, with the resourcefulness to move quickly and embrace continuous iteration and experimentation;
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, working effectively with diverse functions and regional teams;
- Technical Skills: AI aficionado; Excellent proficiency in Excel / Sheets; working knowledge of SQL is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Partnership Management: Experience in Business Development or External Key Account Management (KAM), specifically building trust with local networks.
- Advanced Analytics: Experience with statistical packages or basic programming skills to measure performance and prepare business reviews.
- Project Management Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of execution in a constantly changing, complex environment.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Experience engaging with Policy, Communications, Product, Marketing, and Legal to move the needle on local business goals.
