About the Role
As a Capacity & Workforce Management leader in Uber AI Solutions, you will shape the strategy and operational framework that drives how independent contributors are deployed across projects. You will oversee the end-to-end allocation model-ensuring the right talent is matched to the right work-while balancing capacity, demand, quality, and throughput at scale. This role requires strategic thinking, strong operational judgment, and a data-driven approach to anticipate needs, optimize resource utilization, and enable predictable, high-quality delivery. What the Candidate Will Do
- Partner closely with Sales, Delivery, and Demand Planning teams to anticipate upcoming project needs and proactively build IC capacity pipelines.
- Own end-to-end capacity forecasting, ensuring alignment between demand, available workforce, and project timelines.
- Lead and mentor the capacity and allocation team, driving clarity, accountability, and seamless execution across all active projects.
- Monitor project health end-to-end, identifying capacity gaps, risks, and operational bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
- Implement scalable capacity models, governance mechanisms, and reporting frameworks to support predictable execution and informed decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to balance short-term operational needs with long-term workforce strategy, ensuring consistent throughput and quality.
What the Candidate Will Need
- 8+ years of experience in capacity management, workforce planning, or large-scale operations, with a proven ability to manage complex, high-volume environments.
- Expertise in capacity forecasting, demand modeling, and utilization planning, ensuring the organization can consistently meet delivery, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Strong command of workload balancing and scenario planning, with the ability to anticipate constraints, identify capacity risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, enabling effective management of dynamic resource needs across multiple programs and stakeholders.
- Strategic communication and cross-functional influence, aligning capacity decisions with engineering, product, operations, and vendor teams to support long-term business goals.
- Demonstrated agility and sound operational judgment, maintaining stability and precision while navigating shifting priorities and rapidly evolving demand.
- High-ownership mindset, proactively identifying capacity gaps, driving end-to-end solutions, and optimizing systems and processes to scale sustainably.
- Proficiency with capacity planning and workforce management tools, alongside strong skills technical platforms.
Skills good to have
- Strong expertise in capacity forecasting, demand planning, and scenario modeling.
- Proven ability to optimize workforce utilization while maintaining quality and delivery targets.
- Advanced analytical skills with experience using SQL, dashboards, and data-driven decision frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with workforce management or capacity planning tools and systems.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, with the ability to align capacity plans across operations, engineering, product, and vendor teams.
- Demonstrated capability in designing scalable processes, improving operational efficiency, and resolving capacity bottlenecks.
- Agility in adapting plans to rapid changes in demand or priorities while maintaining operational stability.
- Experience driving change management initiatives, including rollout and adoption of new capacity models or tools.
