About the Role
We are looking for a Science Manager to lead the Advertiser Science team at Uber. The Advertiser team is the demand generation side of the Uber Ads marketplace which is a critical role for our Ads business growth. This is a great opportunity for experienced candidates with a passion for solving new and difficult problems with data. In this role, you will be able to use your strong quantitative skills in the fields of economics, statistics, and/or machine learning to improve the Uber user experience as well as the overall marketplace performance.
\-\-\-\- What You Will Do ----
1. Lead teams that design and execute product experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions.
2. Lead teams that help build statistical, optimization, and machine learning models for a range of applications in the Ads demand generation space.
3. Use data to understand product performance and to identify improvement opportunities and define product/team roadmaps.
4. Present findings to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, operations, and marketing to drive system development end-to-end from ideation to productionization.
\-\-\-\- What You Will Need ----
1. Ph.D., M.S. or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research,Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields.

2. Minimum 2 year of management or tech lead experience
3. Strong knowledge of experimental design and analysis.
4. Knowledge of the underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, machine learning, optimization, economics, and analytics.
5. Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, and model development.
6. Ability to use Python/SQL to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.
\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. 8+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
2. 4+ years of management or tech lead experience
3. Experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
4. Experience in Ads demand generation
5. Experience with productionizing algorithms for real-time systems.
6. Well-honed communication and presentation skills.
