This data fuels Uber's ability to move the world efficiently - from optimizing demand and routing, to understanding real-world behaviors and improving operational excellence.

As Uber continues to scale its use of AI, the AI for Data initiative is reimagining how data becomes actionable intelligence - enabling faster insights, smarter decisions, and greater innovation across the company.

To accelerate this vision, we're looking for an experienced and visionary Product Manager to define and drive the product strategy for this emerging domain. You'll lead the effort to bring cutting-edge AI capabilities into Uber's data ecosystem, empowering every team to uncover insights faster and make more informed, data-driven decisions.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Define the vision and strategy for AI for Data - setting a bold direction for how AI can transform Uber's data into intelligence that accelerates innovation and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate deeply with data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities where AI can automate and elevate data understanding.
  • Build and execute the roadmap for AI-driven data capabilities - from intelligent data discovery, automated insight generation, knowledge extraction, to conversational analytics and data agents.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, TPM, and UX to deliver scalable, high-impact products that leverage AI and ML across Uber's data platform.
  • Establish clear success metrics and continuously measure adoption, impact, and quality to refine capabilities based on real-world results.
  • Champion the vision across Uber - communicating the roadmap, outcomes, and business impact of AI for Data to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical Product Management experience delivering successful data, AI, or ML products.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Deep understanding of modern data platforms, analytics workflows, and AI/ML fundamentals.
  • Strong technical acumen - comfortable engaging with engineers and scientists on system architecture, feasibility, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Excellent understanding of data management, data governance, and emerging trends in AI for data intelligence.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills - able to inspire, align, and motivate diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building large-scale data intelligence systems or AI/data infrastructure products.
  • Hands-on familiarity with enterprise data and AI platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS SageMaker, or GCP Vertex AI.
  • Proven track record of defining and launching platform capabilities that empower developers, analysts, and data scientists.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, thrive in cross-functional environments, and drive alignment across complex organizations.
  • Passion for Uber's mission and a strong desire to build systems that drive global impact.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$216,000 per year - USD$240,000 per year.
