About the Role
As an IT Supply Chain Operations Lead (L4), you will own multiple projects/processes of medium complexity or a single program with high complexity and scope, end-to-end for a moderate-sized team. Your initiatives will have cross-team impact, requiring collaboration with several teams to deliver. You will work with increasing complexity and autonomy, connecting multiple teams with the projects/processes you are responsible for, and directly improving their effectiveness and the quality of their work. You will understand dependencies between teams and drive decisions that improve leverage in your immediate area. You will proactively and consistently uncover opportunities, suggest, and implement recommendations to enhance program KPIs. Your impact horizon will be up to 3 months at this level. You will frame and implement new processes (e.g., creating new playbooks) and drive teams to add proactive monitoring to detect known problems early. You will onboard program teams to existing infrastructures, requiring infrastructure changes. You may also serve as a PgM mentor.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
Analytics & Leadership Focused
- Continuously optimize IT hardware spend, understanding that efficiency often leads to reduced recurring expense.
- Grasp a detailed understanding of IT Supply Chain service changes made to raise the quality of services (e.g., proactive purchases to reduce backlog or delayed purchases to reduce item shelf time).
- Maintain a deep understanding of ticket trends and backlog to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring Uber Assets are accounted for and tracked through the entire lifecycle (acquisition to disposal).
- Monitor and action workflows to move on-hand inventory, deployed inventory, and dispositioned status of EOL/broken assets.
- Work across teams to review weekly results from data deep dives (e.g., random sampling of closed tickets that were aged due to lack of hardware).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bridge gaps and eliminate duplication of work where IT Supply Chain workflows and processes can be utilized.
- Responsible for providing context, information, and direction to the Supply Chain service delivery team to align decisions for high-quality support and service.
- Effectively take in, execute, administer, and communicate changes to process and procedures (i.e., Change Management).
- Identify and escalate risks related to service delivery.
- Serve as an escalation point for IT Supply Chain issues and asks.
- Organize project or program teams and drive progress within the team and across dependencies, despite blockers or obstacles.
- Master project management, including scheduling, resource planning, dependency alignment, risk management, and stakeholder (including executive) communication.
- Identify what constitutes success and organize and execute independently, assuming the project has been defined.
- Provide input to quarterly and annual planning for your areas of the program.
- Create a budget for your project and justify the necessary spend to all stakeholders.
- Create methodologies to track spend and budget, ensuring all team members are informed of status.
- Understand critical success factors for the project and act appropriately when project risks trigger.
- Identify disconnects both within the immediate scope of work and adjacent programs and teams, effectively bringing resolution or escalating.
- Break down complex problems and collect data and facts to support solutions or proposals.
- Build strong domain expertise of multiple projects in the program and develop domain awareness outside your immediate area.
- Identify issues, propose solutions, and drive to resolution within the domain.
- Understand upstream and downstream dependencies and use this knowledge to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement philosophy in day-to-day operations that progressively raises the program's capability, understands broader customer use cases, and applies this understanding to prioritize solutions development.
- Advocate for users in the domain and ensure others working in the domain are educated about stakeholder needs and pain points.
- Drive progress within the program team and across stakeholders, despite blockers or obstacles.
- Work with other stakeholders to get buy-in for ideas and drive consensus.
- Navigate the organization with minimal assistance.
- Be respected internally and demonstrate credibility both within and external to the work group, seen as the go-to person for your project/process.
- Articulate program vision and strategy, using this to clarify and resolve issues.
- Communicate topics of medium complexity to cross-functional audiences (including director level), adapting modality and content appropriately for maximum impact.
- Proficiently contribute to and/or independently create appropriate documentation, seeking inputs and buy-in from key stakeholders.
- Help onboard/train PgMs.
- Participate in the hiring process for teams and programs you are working with.
- Identify people and process gaps and actively work to fill them (e.g., encouraging/facilitating collaboration between team members and between teams).
- Define and implement tools and processes that measurably improve team effectiveness.
Equipment Focused
- Maintain relationships with Suppliers for Vendor Performance and New Development.
- Responsible for staying up-to-date with new product SKUs and internally discussing updates with cross-functional teams to ensure acquisition and provisioning capabilities are planned for.
- Responsible for identifying spend reduction opportunities.
- Assist with custom one-off orders - work with sourcing to identify suppliers and final pricing.
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing global inventory of IT assets (Laptop, Monitors, and accessories).
- Maintain visibility into approved supplier lead times, specifically maintaining awareness of stock availability for standard IT SKUs at the supplier side.
- Data Driven Trend Analysis.
- Process Change Management:
- Responsible for working with IT Supply Chain teams to identify gaps/efficiencies of operational processes on a recurring basis.
- Responsible for communication and approval from stakeholders & service desk Leads.
- Drive communication & training out to impacted teams (working with service desk Leads).
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- 3+ years of work experience in Information Technology with emphasis on corporate asset tracking from origin to decommission.
- Knowledge of application management within the asset tracking domain (using, training, enhancing).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to compile clear and concise data & materials.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly and act proactively when necessary.
- Experience participating in cross-functional projects and being solutions-oriented.
- Flexibility to juggle a range of projects; great organization and execution is a must.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside of Uber.
- Good interpersonal skills - capacity to build a variety of strong internal relationships.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team.
- The ability to analyze data from ticketing systems (like ServiceNow or Jira), identify trends in backlogs or hardware failures, and use that data to make recommendations and measure KPIs.
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- 5+ years in a help desk role supporting Apple and Windows hardware and software.
- Has experience setting up enterprise management software such as an asset management system, telecom expense management system, or printer fleet management systems.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$133,000 per year - USD$148,000 per year.
