About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and data-driven Delivery Commercial Operations ( DCO) Japan Lead to lead the strategic and operational backbone of our Delivery business within the Japan region. This is a leadership role where you'll own how we plan, forecast, scale, and execute our commercial strategy within your region-ensuring that our sales teams are set up for success across every stage of the customer lifecycle.

This role works closely with Sales, Strategy & Planning, Finance, HR, and other functions and you'll operate at the heart of a fast-paced, mission-driven business that powers real-world impact.

---- What You'll Do ----

  1. Lead with Vision: Manage and grow a high-performing team of Sales Operations Analysts; coach them to be thought partners and force multipliers to the business.
  2. Drive Operational Excellence: Assist in the implementation, and continuously improve sales support systems, tools, and processes that enable scalability and agility.
  3. Own Forecasting and Planning: Collaborate with other APAC and Global team members to refine sophisticated forecasting models to inform regional commercial planning and resource allocation.
  4. Champion Data-Driven Decisions: Lead in-depth analysis of sales performance and funnel health to generate insights that influence commercial strategy and drive growth.
  5. Run Strategic Cadence: Lead and streamline weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business cadences to ensure clarity, accountability, and alignment across stakeholders.
  6. Partner Cross-Functionally: Be the connective tissue across Sales, Finance, S&P, HR, Legal, and Marketing-aligning people, process, and strategy to fuel growth.
  7. Steer Strategic Projects: Lead and support high-impact initiatives within and across APAC region to enhance sales productivity and drive market expansion.

  1. Native/ Fluent Japanese and English-capable of navigating local nuance and global complexity.
  2. 10+ years of experience in Sales Operations within a high-growth, performance-driven environment-ideally with ownership of a 100+ person sales org.
  3. Sales productivity and forecast accuracy improve quarter-over-quarter through operational enhancements.
  4. Deliver Commercial Operations is recognized internally as a best-in-class model for commercial operations.
  5. Your team is seen as a trusted advisor to Sales Leadership, influencing GTM decisions with strategic insights.
  6. Business rhythms become more consistent, transparent, and action-oriented across the commercial org.
  7. Uber's Delivery business accelerates growth, efficiency, and team alignment under your operational leadership.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Proven track record in building and leading operational strategies that drive measurable commercial results.
  2. Deep expertise in sales forecasting, territory planning, quota design, incentive compensation, and GTM execution.
  3. Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to turn complex data into strategic recommendations using SQL, Salesforce, and visualization tools.
  4. Executive presence and excellent communication skills; comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and presenting to leadership.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, take ownership, and deliver outcomes independently.
  6. A collaborative mindset and passion for leading through others, developing talent, and cultivating high-performing teams.
