About the Team

The Head of Marketing APAC role sits at the core of Uber's momentum across one of its most diverse and critical regions , managing the strategic balance between brand-led business growth and market-specific execution across all lines of business. The role will span key markets including ANZ, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Sri Lanka.

With a focus on deepening mobility penetration in priority markets like Japan , driving growth strategies in highly competitive markets like India , and extending marketing playbooks beyond mobility into delivery and new categories , this is a significant opportunity to lead transformation. This role requires a world-class, exceptional marketing leader to galvanize teams, inspire collaboration, and partner closely with the business to shape the future of this category-shaping brand. The leader will be an active member of the global marketing team and a key part of the APAC leadership team.

About the Role

We're looking for a marketing leader for one of Uber's most important and diverse regions, APAC, to help drive brand-led business growth in ANZ, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Sri Lanka, ensuring Uber and Uber Eats are loved and trusted brands in daily life.

You will be a key part of the APAC leadership team, where you will help create the future of this category-shaping brand by developing Marketing initiatives with business impact. You will be responsible for leading a talented group of marketers, providing strategic leadership, overseeing large-scale campaigns, driving a high-performance and collaborative team culture, and creating functional excellence and partnerships.

What You'll Do

  • Build a top marketing team: You will be responsible for leading a marketing team to execute Uber's marketing strategy in the region. Serve as an exceptional coach and talent developer, building functional excellence in customer insights, media, and creative. You will lead the next evolution of our team, investing in new tools (like AI) to maximize efficiency and elevate the bar for creative execution.
  • Bring new customers to the Uber platform: We've seen rocketship growth to date, but there are still plenty of people in all of our markets that have yet to try Uber, Uber Eats, Uber One or earn with Uber. You'll identify the segments that represent an opportunity, build and align jobs to be done with stakeholders and partners and put Uber in front of those segments. You'll lead effective marketing and communications campaigns that grab and hold attention and bring more new users to Uber.
  • Engage our existing customer base: We want Uber to become a daily part of life for our customers who want to go anywhere or get anything. We never want the Uber experience to stop feeling like magic. You'll champion our customers and their needs, identifying opportunities to improve Uber's value propositions. You'll develop targeted messaging and propositions to build engagement with existing customers through new products, new occasions, and use cases.
  • Build trust and reputation and ignite love for the brand: You'll work closely with our comms team to define the Uber narrative, ensure local relevance across each market in APAC and help make sure it is told consistently and repeated frequently in all of our communications. You'll ensure that communities hear about the impact and essential reliability that Uber and our earners bring to the cities we serve.
  • Partner with the business: You'll bring a CMO mindset to the regional organizations. You'll add a marketing lens to all of our regional operations, bringing customer insights, crafting vision and a clear message, leveraging partnerships, including new distribution channels to unlock new audiences, categories., and developing full funnel campaigns. You'll work closely with our operations teams, strategy, partnerships, comms and policy, using your marketing expertise to help elevate their efforts to the next level.
  • Future-Proofing the Brand: Define and execute the strategy for brand architecture consolidation and lead the exploration of AI as a competitive moat in our marketing and customer journey.

What You'll Need

  • Extensive and diverse experience managing teams to build loved and famous consumer brands. You will have experience building brands from scratch as well as growing and localising global brands in different markets.
  • Experience and thought leadership managing functions that include combinations of the following: brand marketing, analytics, media, partnerships, social, product marketing, agency relationships and marketing operations.
  • Experience developing brand strategies and executing integrated marketing campaigns to drive significant brand-led growth. Demonstrated experience across new category creation, market penetration, and reputation building.
  • Experience overseeing market research, segmentation and measurement and developing targeted customer acquisition, portfolio and engagement strategies.
  • #See the Forest and the Trees. You will have the ability to make the complex simple and the simple compelling.
  • Business Acumen & ROI Rigor: Demonstrated ability to build conviction around the long-term value of brand marketing by defining and implementing world-class measurement discipline, connecting brand investment directly to LTV and commercial outcomes. Must be comfortable challenging short-term moves that compromise long-term strategic growth.
  • Strong operational skills and the experience and judgment to make decisions with imperfect information. Needs to be an exceptional communicator, able to give clarity, direction and feedback to a high-performance team so they can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience in brand-led, consumer-focused industries where creative excellence is used aggressively to drive behavior change (not just reputation).
