Global Marketing Strategy Lead, Retail
About the Role
This is a critical, high-impact role for an experienced Global Marketing Strategy Lead to drive growth and engagement for our rapidly expanding retail business. The successful candidate will be tasked with transforming our marketing approach to think holistically across the entire consumer funnel and bridging the critical gap between brand-building and performance-driven outcomes.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic vision,analytical rigor, cross-functional leadership, and executive communication skills. Primary focus will be on owning global marketing strategy for Uber's Retail business, identifying new growth opportunities, and turning insights into actionable plans for our marketing channels. This role will also act as the voice of global retail marketing strategy within the Performance Marketing team and partner closely with Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, Operations and Product.

What You'll Do:
Strategy
- Define, develop, and own the global retail marketing strategy in close partnership with the business, ensuring alignment with overall objectives.
- Bridge the gap between Brand and Performance Marketing, developing strategies that effectively connect top-of-funnel awareness and consideration initiatives with bottom-of-funnel efforts.
- Identify and size new retail market opportunities, translating them into actionable marketing strategies and business cases.
- Analyze marketing performance data and consumer patterns such as app download trends, conversion rate, and competitor analysis to recognize marketing investment efficiency and advise on strategy.
Cross-functional partnership & collaboration
- Serve as the primary strategic marketing liaison between the Performance Marketing team and Product Marketing, Regional Marketing teams, and Global Brand teams.
- Support key internal Marketing communications to promote connection, exchange and flow of information among channel teams and main stakeholders on strategy, performance, and insights.
- Create a roadmap that supports the growth of Uber's Retail business rooted in marketing channel, measurement, and Ad Tech standard processes.
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Manage up effectively by structuring complex, data-driven strategies into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior leadership.
- Develop and present executive-level presentations and strategic updates to C-suite stakeholders, influencing investment decisions and securing buy-in for strategic shifts.
- Act as the voice of the global retail marketing strategy within the Performance team and across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
- 10+ years experience in marketing, specifically in building multi-channel and cross-channel digital strategies

- Ability to analyze and structure data, turn data into insights, and insights into actions that assist senior management and other business leaders with decision-making.
- High business acumen with a solid analytical mindset
- Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable working in a matrixed organization

- Good interpersonal skills: experience managing successfully with diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Good organizational skills & attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, initiative, & proactive planning
- Critical thinker who is able to solve business problems and communicate solutions in an engaging way to cross-functional teams
- Experience in high-paced globally distributed organizations
- In-house Marketing experience preferred
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
