About the Role
As the Director of Corporate Development, you will lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic acquisitions, investments, and partnerships that define Uber's future. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Development, you will serve as a key architect of Uber's inorganic growth strategy across all global business lines. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a sophisticated blend of financial acumen, strategic foresight, and the ability to build deep relationships with Uber's executive leadership and the broader technology ecosystem.

- Architect and Drive Inorganic Growth: Set the strategic direction for Uber's inorganic growth across Mobility, AV, Delivery, and Freight, partnering with senior operating leaders to identify and secure acquisitions that deliver durable competitive advantage

- Direct End-to-End M&A Execution: Lead the full M&A lifecycle, owning deal strategy, prioritization, and outcomes while directing complex cross-functional teams through due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing
- Define Investment Standards: Establish the rigorous investment bar by driving clear business cases, advanced valuation methodologies, and capital allocation frameworks, focusing specifically on long-term shareholder value creation
- Advise Executive Leadership: Serve as a critical senior advisor to executive leadership, leading high-stakes investment discussions, surfacing critical trade-offs and risks, and maintaining accountability from initial sourcing through post-close value realization
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or venture capital, with a significant focus on the technology sector
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Advanced Degree: From a top-tier global institution
- Proven M&A Track Record: Demonstrated experience leading and closing large-scale, complex transactions in a fast-paced, global environment
- Exceptional Financial Literacy: Mastery of valuation methodologies, three-statement modeling, and capital structure analysis
- Operating Experience: Previous experience within a high-growth technology platform, providing a nuanced understanding of product-led growth and marketplace dynamics
- Strategic Breadth: Ability to move fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and granular execution/operational details
- Global Perspective: Experience navigating cross-border transactions and diverse regulatory environments
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$245,000 per year - USD$272,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$245,000 per year - USD$272,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
