About the Role
We are seeking a senior strategic leader to build, lead, and scale the Commercial Operations function for our global Uber Advertising business. This is a critical leadership role responsible for defining our commercial strategy, building the scalable infrastructure for our go-to-market (GTM) motions, and driving operational excellence across the entire sales organization.
You will be a key member of the Advertising leadership team and a trusted partner to the Head of Sales. You will guide your organization to support the business in everything from strategic planning and ad product commercialization to complex deal execution. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who can build a function from the ground up, balancing long-term strategic vision with high-velocity, day-to-day execution.

What You'll Do
Strategic & Team Leadership:
- Set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the global Commercial Operations function.
- Build, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team responsible for commercial strategy, deal desk, and sales operations.
GTM & Commercial Strategy:
- Own the commercial GTM strategy for all new ad products. Partner with Product, Marketing, and Ad Operations to define packaging, pricing, and the operational "go-live" plan.
- Drive the annual and quarterly operational planning cadence, including territory design, quota setting, and sales compensation alignment.
Commercial & Deal Desk Ownership:
- Build and own the global Deal Desk function, acting as the ultimate escalation point for the most complex, high-value, and non-standard advertising deals.
- Partner at an executive level with Legal, Finance, and Product to find creative solutions that accelerate deal velocity while managing commercial risk and compliance.
Process & Operational Excellence:
- Drive transformational process improvements to achieve product go-to-market excellence and sales cycle efficiency.
- Develop and enforce the commercial "rules of engagement," deal policies, and scalable processes that empower the sales team.
Analytics & Forecasting:
- Own the sales forecasting process, pipeline analytics, and business performance reporting, delivering executive-level insights and strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Strategy, or Deal Desk, ideally within the digital advertising or high-growth tech industry.
- 7+ years of progressive people management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams (experience managing other managers is strongly preferred)

- Commercial Acumen: World-class expertise in B2B advertising sales motions, media deal structuring, contract fundamentals, and pricing strategies.
- Analytical Skills: Highly analytical and data-driven, with a proven ability to turn complex data into an executive-level narrative and actionable strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to act as a trusted, authoritative partner to VP and C-level stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$239,000 per year - USD$265,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$239,000 per year - USD$265,500 per year.
