Data Analytics Specialist III

About the Role

You will support the Global Data Infrastructure & Strategy team by delivering analytics that drive decision-making and by contributing to the maintenance and governance of Uber's global customer support data. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in advanced SQL, working knowledge of Python, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the role requires solid business acumen to understand customer support workflows and translate data into actionable insights. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively are essential to succeed in this role.

1. Develop and maintain queries, tables, data models, and data pipelines to meet global analytics and reporting needs
2. Ensure the ongoing maintenance, quality, and accessibility of customer support data
3. Analyze and optimize existing queries and data pipelines to improve performance and efficiency
4. Proactively address issues in customer support data tables and queries to minimize reporting disruptions
5. Modify data sources to support new product launches, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
6. Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics and Engineering teams to align on data changes and requirements
7. Lead high-impact data infrastructure projects for the broader team
8. Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, sharing best practices and technical guidance

1. Proficiency in advanced SQL for building and troubleshooting queries and workflows.
2. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a strong ability to document analyses in a structured and transparent manner
3. Basic proficiency in Python, with the ability to automate routine tasks
4. Stakeholder Management & ability to collaborate with Engineering teams

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

1. Familiarity with Hive, Presto, or Spark SQL
2. Familiarity with Hadoop data storage concepts
