About the Role

Bangladesh is a high-priority market for Uber in the APAC region. We have been serving Bangladesh since 2016 across ride-sharing categories such as Cars, Autos, Bikes, Intercity, and Courier.

We are looking for our next passionate and committed Country Head to lead the business through the next phase of growth and transformation.

This is one of the most demanding positions Uber has to offer and requires a unique combination of talent, creativity, courage, and leadership.

What the Candidate Will Do

1. Be the strategic leader of the business in Bangladesh, translating global missions and priorities into a locally inspiring strategy and plan.
2. Lead a team of exceptionally hard-working and diverse people - championing our culture and employee brand.
3. Be responsible for driving commercial results in Bangladesh, both top and bottom line.
4. Drive Growth and execution in the market, crafted to local needs, with Uber's global tech muscle.
5. Be the spokesperson for Uber in Bangladesh. Leading relationships with key opinion leaders, high government officials, high-level business partners, and, of course, with users and drivers.
6. Build and develop strong relationships with cross-functional leaders (Category, Legal, Strategy & Planning, Communications, People, Customer Support, Product, Government Affairs, and more) in order to successfully drive the long-term growth and sustainability strategy for your regions.

What the Candidate Will Need

1. 9+ years of work experience, including time spent in strategic and operational roles, supported by a history of delivering clear results.
2. Experience in managing a sizeable P&L.
3. High tolerance for ambiguity with a natural reflex for reducing a complex business problem into well-structured, tangible components.
4. Impeccable reputation from an ethics and integrity perspective.
5. Powerful executive communication skills with experience in driving leadership communication - both verbally and in writing - will be Uber's face and voice in Bangladesh.
6. Evidence of successful complex stakeholder management across a variety of functions; bonus points for across international borders, experience representing your brand/market externally.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
