Competition Strategy & Insights Associate, EMEA

About the Role

You will join a small, high-performing team responsible for building the data foundation and insights that shape how Uber Eats competes across EMEA. This role blends analytics and strategy - ideal for someone who can go deep into data while connecting insights to business impact.

You will operate with high visibility, working closely with the EMEA Delivery leadership team and supporting them in shaping the strategies required for long-term success. You'll work across the full lifecycle of competitive intelligence, from acquiring raw data to delivering strategic recommendations to leadership.

What You Will Do

Build and scale competitive intelligence

1. Build tools, dashboards, and frameworks that enable teams across Uber Eats to track competition, model category position, and optimize merchant selection
2. Implement competition intelligence systems to handle large datasets efficiently

1. Analyze competitive trends, identify risks and opportunities, and translate ambiguous problems into actionable insights
2. Deliver clear narratives and recommendations to EMEA leadership, country teams, and cross-functional partners

1. Collaborate with Strategy, Finance, Product, Ops, and Global Competition to align methodologies and definitions
2. Support regional teams with tactical competitive strategy and decision-making

1. 2+ years of full-time experience in a highly analytical role (e.g., strategy consulting, business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, competitive intelligence)
2. Bachelor's degree from a top university, preferably in a quantitative field (Maths, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science)
3. Strong technical skills: SQL (advanced), Python, Excel / Google Sheets
4. Demonstrated business insight: ability to understand marketplace dynamics and link data to commercial outcomes
5. Strong communication skills: able to distill complex analyses into concise stories tailored for different audiences
6. Excellent planning and organization: able to structure workstreams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver reliably.
7. Problem-solving skills: logical thinker who structures ambiguity into clear steps
8. Strong partner management: builds trust, collaborates effectively, and understands stakeholder needs
9. Team player: optimistic, reliable, and respectful in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
10. Experience in competitive intelligence, food delivery, logistics, or marketplace businesses
11. Familiarity with query optimization and working with distributed SQL engines (Hive, Presto)
12. Experience building dashboards or internal tools used by business teams
