Communications Senior Associate, Andina, Central America & Caribbean
About the Role
We're looking for a communications professional who wants to help shape how people understand the role of technology in addressing complex, real-world challenges. This role will support the execution of external communications strategies for Uber across the Andean region, Central America, and the Caribbean (ACAC). The Communications Senior Associate will work closely with regional Communications leadership and cross-functional partners to help bring strategic narratives to life, support high-impact initiatives, proactively engage with media, and manage reactive inquiries in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in Bogotá, Colombia, and reports to the Director of Communications for South Cone, Andean, Central America, and the Caribbean.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Support the development and execution of external communications strategies that advance Uber's business, policy, and reputation priorities across ACAC.
- Contribute to shaping and amplifying key narratives related to mobility, delivery, and Uber's economic impact in the region.
- Help strengthen Uber's profile with media, journalists, and relevant third-party stakeholders through proactive pitching and relationship building.
- Manage rapid-response media relations, including drafting statements, Q&A, and briefing materials under guidance.
- Collaborate with global and regional Communications teams on integrated campaigns that enhance Uber's overall reputation.
- Draft and edit high-quality written materials across formats, including press releases, media pitches, talking points, and internal documents.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional partners (Policy, Ops, Marketing, Legal, Social) to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Support and collaborate with external communications agencies as needed.

Basic Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in communications, public relations, or journalism
- A self-starter who enjoys building from the ground up, adapts quickly to change, and remains calm under pressure.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments and supporting communications around complex or high-stakes issues.
- Familiarity with the media landscape in the region and an understanding of its role in shaping public and regulatory conversations.
- Fluency in English and Spanish proficiency.
- A strong communicator who can distill complex topics into clear, compelling messages and write with clarity and accuracy.
- A collaborative team player who is well organized, dependable, and motivated by shared goals.
- A creative problem solver who can contribute ideas, support campaign development, and help execute communications plans.
- An executor with a bias for action and a willingness to learn through hands-on experience.
- Growing experience in media relations, with the ability to support spokesperson activities and engage with journalists under guidance.
