Account Executive I, Commercial Retail
About the role and team
Join the Uber Eats Commercial Retail team to shape the future of commerce. As an Account Executive, you will secure high-impact partners and expand our marketplace across high-growth verticals like Grocery, Pharma, and Alcohol. This role is about more than just closing deals; it's about creating a tangible impact for diverse businesses and our platform.
The pace here is fast and the environment is often ambiguous, requiring you to navigate complex internal and external dynamics with grit and ownership. You will thrive if you are a resilient self-starter who values building long-term strategic partnerships over transactional wins. Success in this role means being a consultant for our partners, helping them see the real-world value of moving with Uber.
What you'll do
- Own the full sales cycle end-to-end, from creative prospecting and top-of-funnel activity to complex negotiations and closing.
- Navigate shifting priorities and market dynamics to unlock key retailers in high-growth, strategic retail sectors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with onboarding, marketing, and operations teams to resolve blockers and ensure a seamless launch for new merchants.
- Act as a strategic growth partner during the critical first month of a partnership to ensure merchants achieve early, measurable success.
- Adapt your consultative selling approach based on client needs and market trends to build deep, lasting trust.
- Manage your pipeline with high discipline in Salesforce, balancing urgent short-term wins with long-term strategic plays.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a sales, business development, or commercial role.
- Experience managing long, complex sales cycles from lead generation to close.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, specifically Salesforce, for pipeline management and reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically within the retail, grocery, or delivery sectors.
- Established network within the UK&I retail market.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to influence stakeholders and drive deal-making decisions.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to collaborate across diverse, global teams.
Ready to Ride?
This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we'd love to hear from you.
